Lynn is a helluva upgrade over Lohse and is more than an innings eater. Lynn would be a 15 game winner if stuck in the rotation. I think he is going to be tough.

Pujols
Lynn still needs more grooming to be a quality SP, I see a year in long relief. Waino back the rotation will look good.
Furcal and Dotel at a reduced salary would be nice.

With the Cubs letting Ramirez walk, i do not care who they sign. They are going to suck ass big time. I know everyone is high on Starlin Castro. Here is a good one for you Carlos Pena's OBP was .357 his OPS .819 , Castro's .341 and .773

I wouldn't mind seeing the Sox resign Bedard...we desperately need SP and he would be a relatively cheap signing, I think he will do great once he is in full health next season.
Bedard is too big a risk unless it's really really cheap or heavily incentive-based. He had a great arm, but what a mess he's become. Last year Colon and Garcia were dirt freakin' cheap and both worked out great, so I guess it's worth at least a shot. $2mil get it done?

And as for the Yanks, no CJ Wilson thank you. I'd be fine with E Jackson for $10-12M for 2-3 yrs. Decent innings eater with the possibility of big games. A good 3-4 starter behind Sabathia and Nova.
Big risk? You kidding me?? How is it a big risk if he will only get max about $3M? He hasn't had a full season of an ERA over 4 since 05' while maintaining a low WHIP. I know he has had injuries but with the $ he would be getting it wouldn't be a huge risk, especially since he will start out the season at full health (unlike when he was traded to them with a previous injury :? ....but even with said injury he still did a decent job considering.)

It's only a big risk if the Red Sox heavily count on him as a #4 or whatever in the rotation. You can't count on an injury-riddled pitcher to be there for you throughout the year, you have to sort of look at it as whatever he actually does produce as gravy. It'd still be a good move, but penciling him into the rotation for the entire year is a bit of a risk. But if he's healthy, of course he'll be in the rotation.
This is what I was getting at as far as risk. If you're counting on any rotation spot for him going into the season, you're potentially punting 1/5 your starts. And claiming that "he will start out the season at full health" considering how his last full season was 2007 and he's never topped the 196 IP from '06 is overly optimistic. If you can sign him to a minor league contract that's incentive laden, that's a good deal. Garcia did that for the Yanks last year and that worked out well. I believe Colon was a minor league deal as well.

So no, I'm not kidding you.
