Many years ago, back before I sold some of my collection to pay for my wedding, I owned 2 mjb holographics cards of BAgwell. But these were actual prototypes. On the back, diagonally across said prototype. There are 4 cards in the regular set, but I only had 2 prototypes and don't know if there were prototypes for all 4 or not.

It taunts me every time I go on eBay, because there are tons of mjb holographic cards, but none of them ever say prototype. Hopefully someday...

Brooks Robinson...need the following high dollar items:

1. '61 Dice Game
2. '67 Topps test disc
3. '68 Topps test disc
4. '68 Topps 3D proof

Likely will never own the above...

In my current job, I've handled two of those cards :)

Liberate Baltimore, WOW; that is so cool. I've only been able to see these four examples through scanned photos. I "think" the Brooksie 3D was on display at the Baltimore National, but I found out after the fact and didn't get the opportunity to see the card first hand. What were the circumstances in handling these two examples and which items were they? I believe the 3D and the Dice Game were in the Huggins and Scott auctions and I think they also had some of the proofs of the discs. The items went for "FAR" more than I can afford for an item, even though I'd love to have any of the examples some day, but not likely not in my lifetime.

Really? Since they're so easy to find perhaps you wouldn't mind selling me a Thom McAn Fernando Valenzuela disc (non-yellow variation). I have the yellow one but supposedly there is a second color that I have never seen. Don't even know what the color is.

I have a Fernando yellow, but it's the only Jox disc I've ever seen in person. These can't be that easy to find. The BVs on them are a little fishy, though; 8 discs book for $40-$80, Bruce Sutter is $10, and ALL the rest are $1 or $2.

Does anyone have CD #3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, or 11 from this set? I was told that these Cyber Action cards were never released. It looks like they may be from 2000. I did a bunch of research and couldn't find any information on them. Each CD has 10 digital playing cards that include video, audio, stats, trivia, etc.

tsp352.jpg

The package has a large picture of the main player on the front and on the back it is a smaller pic of the main player along with pics of two four card subsets included as well as a pic of the bonus card that you had to activate from their website. The four player subsets are repeated across some of the CDs. I have 5 out of the 12 CDs. If anyone has the info on the other seven, that would be great. Here is a closeup of the back and info on the 5 CDs I have.

Hi,

I work for Huggins and Scott as the Head Writer, so I am in charge of writing approximately 50% of the descriptions that go in our catalog. Being that I am a huge Orioles and Brooks Robinson fan, I pulled rank and wrote them. The Dice game was literelly found in an 800 count box by the original consignor.

James,

Your job sounds very interesting to me; would be really neat to write all about the various items that go through the auctions. I went to the National in Baltimore two years ago and Huggins and Scott had a booth set up; believe it was mainly to preview their upcoming action as well as get consignors. They always have some great items... I think I've won a few items in the past if I'm not mistaken; nothing of great monetary value though.

I believe the Dice Game went for around 19K and the 3D well over 20K, so this is way out of my reach. The Dice Game must have been such an interesting find!

Thanks for the link. I did run across that site in my research. He is talking about an All-Star Disc (that is a regular size CD) with 54 players on it. You can get these still on eBay. The ones I'm looking for are small, individual CDs with only 10 players on each.

I think it would still be cool to bring the card up on the computer screen and save the image, to print and add to ones player collection. Gotta be easier than finding cards with players feet on them ;)
I don't see Bagwell listed though, so I guess I'm out.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't included on one of the seven unknown discs.

I don't think the Thom McAn discs come in different color variations. I've seen the blank back Subway discs (fronts look exactly like the McAns) in multiple colors, but never the McAn/Jox discs.

Wow, haven't seen anyone on this board that collects Don Zimmer besides me. I can help you find a lot of those items if you want. Most aren't that hard. They're all pictured on my website Collecting Zim: A Don Zimmer Fansite, except the 1961 Cubs Team Issue, which I don't think really exists. Beckett's listing says it's checklist is based on an ad in a magazine for the set, but I've never seen it.
