Which of these guys WILL be HOF's in the future?

I think Berkman has the best chance. He has a higher career OPS than A-Rod. That is impressive to me. Most of his stats are better than someone like Puckett. As far as MVP goes, he has finished in the top 10 five times. Plus he has been in the shadow of guys like Pujols and Bonds, and Berkman is in a smaller market. Berkman is also not controversal, and he's a quiet player too. Trade him to Texas and let him DH for a few years.

Berkman is the only one of all of these that has a chance, though more seasons like this past year won't help.

My exact thoughts when initially seeing this list. Exactly.

If I had to pick one, I would think Berkman has the best chance. Im not sure if anyone on that list makes it, though.

I went with Rollins, Lee and Berkman. I think 3,000 hits is an automatic induction, and Rollins and Lee have a good shot. Berkman seems to be on the decline, but if he can find it again and keep it up for a bunch of seasons, I can see him possibly getting in. I don't think any of the other players are even close.

I think Berkman has a chance given a late career switch to the AL. I think Soriano is pretty much done and will see a lot of time on the DL in the upcoming years. Rollins has a chance if he can sniff 3000 hits, but I think the chances are slim.

I think if any it will be Michael Young. Great player who is above average and very solid and consistent.

Id like to meet who thinks Edgar Renteria even has an outside chance.

I'll be disappointed if even one of these players makes the Hall. Rollins has the best chance.

Bolded names disappointed me, although I'm in the minority with Ozzie and Sandberg. Another couple you left off the list were recent are Carlton Fisk and Tony Perez.

Based off of the previous admissions we will now always have borderline admissions like Omar Vizquel, Jorge Posada, Edgar Martinez, Fred McGriff and some of the other names you see above. You may say some of these guys won't make it but they very possibly could. I never thought I'd see the day when Goose Gossage was a Hall of Famer :?

Even guys that have been on the list for quite some time and have a good shot next year or down the road like Blyleven, Dawson, and Murphy are just not ELITE.

So yeah I've been severly disappointed with almost half of the writer's choices the past 15 years and it's only getting worse. I wish the writers wouldn't feel OBLIGATED to vote someone in. Then Goose and Sutter wouldn't be there.

I do agree with you on that! All of these, including Sutter and Gossage were stars of my time, so I am a little biased for this entire era currently. With Dawson and Murphy the next ones that I feel should be in! I remember pitching in the backyard as Bruce Sutter to my buddy who was pretending to be Cecil Cooper, etc...But yes, it's dumb to vote people in just because they need to vote in somebody!

I am too and I'm a big fan who abstained from voting. In my opinion Ozzie Smith would not have made the Hall without his glove. Defense has merit and Hunter has been one of the best for nearly a decade. Few will forget his 2002 AS rob of Barry Bonds. He has also been on a playoff team just about every season.

I think if Hunter can get to 2000 hits, 300 HR, 1200 RBI, and 200 SB (three to four more seasons of current production) then it will be hard to not consider him for the Hall. Hunter, like his predecessor the late Kirby Puckett, has some great intangibles; ambassador of the game, community service, stewardship, character, and apparent lack of roids. These traits have been considered in addition to the numbers by Hall voters in the past.

I have to go with none as well. A lot of things can happen in the future, but as of now there is no way that you can tell if any of these guy will get it. As for a slight guess, Berkman has the best shot, but I see him as the "White Fred McGriff." :lol:

As of now I say none as well. All will be guys that get votes, but then Travis Fryman got 2 votes for the Hall of Fame in 2008?! I was a big Fryman fan back in the day, but c'mon. I personally think there needs to be more accountability from the voters- like who left Rickey Henderson off of their ballot. Perhaps the Fryman votes were courtesy votes, but if everyone voted like that he could get in, or if everyone voted to prevent Rickey from getting 100% of the votes then he woudln't get voted in the first year... Now the members of the media are playing morality police with McGwire and others. That's kind of amusing on some level.

But as of now none on the list are in, nor do their chances look great.

Again this wasn't a list of who is heading for the HOF. All you had to do was vote who you think will end up there someday. If that was none...then you don't vote for any...

I agree with you on all of these! The have REALLY watered down the Hall of Fame! Fisk is worthy, Sandberg is borderline, the rest are garbage.
