Kap is from Turlock which is 10 minutes away from here. A lot of people around here said he was a much better baseball player than football player.I agree with this, although if it were a matter of placing a player on the team today, Sonny Gray would be a nice choice.
Just looked over the 2000-2010 Cubs drafts, here's the interesting names I found, with the year and round:
Colin Kaepernick - 2009, 43rd
Sony Gray - 2008, 27th
Micah Owings - 2004, 19th
Matt LaPorta - 2003, 14th
Tim Lincecum - 2003, 48th
Khalil Greene - 2001, 14th
Not my team, but my favorite player, Steve Garvey, was originally drafted by the Twins. He went to Michigan State instead.

If so, you'd be heart pressed to find someone better than Clemens

And yes, you are right, Clemens is the biggest fish who got away (but I'm not too upset about that)
