I'm not sure Longoria has the star personality outside of baseball. There's nothing celebrity like about his personal life at this point. Also, not to sound like a jerk, but I doubt it will be a foreign born player. Nothing against them, but it seems people don't relate as well with foreign guys no matter how great they are at baseball.

That said. I think we are going into a pitching dominate decade. So I'm going out on a limb and saying Strasburg comes back fine, and becomes the star. He has a more likable personality than Harper. Who I would guess would otherwise be the star.

I really think it will be hard for a non Yankee to be as popular as Jeter is. And I totally agree with you about the being born in the US.
