He actually struck out quite a bit for the era. Not as much as Dunn, but then again, who does?

I always thought Ryan Howard had the same body type. They sure can't hit triples (HK 24 RH 17) and get stolen bases (HK 19 DH 11). All of Ryan's numbers are a bit better, but if you throw out the bad last three years of Harmon, they would be close.

I thought of Thome first too. I personally didn't meet him, but my two direct bosses did when we did a Private signing with him about mid-way thru his Phillies run.

Cool story: We had a cool, vertical, taken-from-slightly behind catcher looking down 1st Base line shot of a Milestone RBI (1, 500 I think?). Anyway, it was pretty new then and he hadn't seen it. He politely asked if he could have two, of course they said yes, and then he signed for all 4 guys there with a long list of inscriptions.

And I've never heard a bad fan story about him (or a Roids rumor either)...
