Why some COMC Sellers drive me absolutely up the freaking wall

A lot of sellers try to calculate ebay cost + shipping cost for their price. So a card that would normally sell for $2.00 on ebay is usually $4.50 to $5.00 on COMC. ***** don't play that.

Who's Noah Lowry?

Trying to make a long story short -- I have a Topps Black of Noah Lowry, former Giants pitcher on COMC. I started the price at level "x" and a collector offered me 1/2 off which is automatic reject territory. The next offer was again 1/2 off and with the 3 strikes and out policy, again automatic reject. The next offer was for 25 cents more than 1/2 price so I said: OK maybe he's ready to move up -- at which point I made a counter offer which was summarily rejected and then raised my price so if I got an 1/2 price off offer at least the offer would be close to what I really would take.

I vented about this here on a previous COMC thread and there was a good question posted by an user what was EBay price. Ebay was $10 OBO and in a store so I guess that dealer did not really want to move the price either. I would have been thrilled at $6 but we never got that far in the offers back and forth.

In other words, the seller was not always at fault as the buyer was unwilling to budge on his offer. I do hope he has since picked up one of those cards but that particular buyer was not for me.

COMC always used to be a place to get stuff cheaper than eBay. I rarely offer eBay prices on COMC.

Sure. My beef is that I'm not trying to take $28 on a card that routinely sells for $60+ on Ebay when mine is priced at $55.

You win some and lose some I guess.

And here is where as a seller I get upset. I have a 1955 Bowman Bob Grim with some "marks" on the back. To me that is a 10 percent of book card. I have tried to put the card in at $2 so someone can just grab the card at a very reasonable price. I actually due to this thread, re lowered the price to 10 percent and then some nit wit decided to make a lower offer. Needless to say, I'm goosing the price back up. 10 percent of book is more than fair and the front presents better than that. And you wonder why some sellers get upset

If you're getting upset about someone offering you money for a worthless piece of paper, you're in the wrong hobby.

Then make fair offers --- It is annoying when you put a fair price on a card and someone then puts in a lower offer. I learned a long time ago, if the card is priced fairly, just purchase the darn card. Don't put yourself in a position where you do not get what you want

You've got a worthless piece of cardboard that someone is offering you money for. I find nothing offensive or annoying or anger inducing no matter how much they offer.

Those same people making those offers are probably the same people who run around yelling that ebay is the "true" market value of a card as well.
