For those who have used the phrase "woman", I am greatly offended.

From now on, females of the human species will be referred to as "womyn."

Furthermore, the term "prospects" is both degrading and insulting to those baseball players who have no chance of making it to the MLB level. Therefore, we will now refer to them as "professional baseball players who are in the minor leagues".

And I am sorry if I offeneded Elin, please leave her alone.

I kind of agree with Garko collector. If they can hack it...then let them play. But I have very serious doubts they could do it. Its not a macho thing either. Women just aren't built like men and anyone who wants to start an argument over that is just trying to be a pain in the ass. Are there some women out there who are as strong as an average or above average man? Sure. Are there great women athletes out there? Sure. But the question is...how many of them are good enough to play in the majors?

What about fights? Say some female athlete throws at a male athlete. Now you have put the male athlete in a bind because he has to make sure its understood he isn't going to take that but he certainly can't go out there and kick her ass either. Hell...maybe she would even win a fist fight between them but the point is...now the whole way of things have changed because you aren't going to see him charge the mound and you aren't going to see anyone throw at the female athlete when its her turn to bat. So now you have something like that that goes unchecked. IMO...when things start having to change within the way the game is played or handled because of a player...the player doesn't belong.

I am all for giving women their due and letting them try whatever they want. They are a human being after all. But where I get tired of the BS is when they insist on trying to do stuff they just physically can't. And anyone who says anything a bout it will be labeled as a woman hater. Its dumb. Its almost like telling a black dude he can't get a new car because his credit score isn't high enough and then being labeled a racist.

Imo...if you can't handle the heat then stay out of the kitchen. If I had a dime for every time I have seen it happen...I'd be a rich man. I used to actually have two friends that both played volleyball and basketball in highschool for very good teams. But they were female. No big deal. They were actually pretty good. But lo and behold...if we were all at a park and got a pick up game going...they'd want to play and gripe at us until we let them. Then it turned from an ultra competitive game where we were all having fun to some kind of circus where you had to change the damn rules and not be as rough. And inevitably the whole game is now about trying not to be mean to them or too rough with them. I have gotten pissed off several times and sat out because of it. Its not that I minded playing with them. If we got our own game...I took it for what it was and it was fun. But when I wanted to play all out, dammit...I wanted to play all out and you just can't do that with a female. Not if you have a conscience. Not with the ones I played with. Don't even get me started on baseball. I think we never played more than 2 minutes of catch before their hand hurt and I always allowed them to use my best glove and a batting glove underneath. I don't even throw that damn hard. Especially not playing catch with a woman. Still...to no avail.

Maybe all women aren't this way. I'd imagine they aren't. But I'd also imagine that there just aren't as many "tough" women out there as people try to lead us to believe. Sure you can say somebody is a woman hater. Sure you can talk all the smack you want. Why not just shut up and get out there and prove people wrong. No changing any rules. Nobody trying to treat you any different than they would a male. You want it, you got it. I don't see a lot of females doing that.

Yes, we do.

He is trying to give his opinion on the OP, and you, as usual, are trolling.

And I was beginning to think I was the only one who noticed. GarkoCollector's points are valid. I am far from a woman hater and women can have any career they want. But I for one would stop watching MLB if women played. I would resume watching once the little experiment were over.

You digging up this old post from earlier today to get a dig in on me is more trolling than me finding statements the OP made to be strange. I applaud your effort.

Did I dig up an old post? No. I responded to the very first post under my "view your posts". Did I take a dig at you, as you say? No. I responded to another members opinion to which I agree with. I also went on to say that I agree with Garko's view on this.

You should really stop taking things on a sports card forum so peronally. I don't know you, I don't care to know you. I have no personal agenda towards you. I hope that clears things up for you. Whether you choose to believe it or not, well that's on you.

I said my peace. Clearly you choose to believe people are out to get you or to harass you or whatever it is you think. That's your prerogative. I'll say again, I have nothing against you. Take care.

I actually prefer my wife in the kitchen because she can cook way better than I can. And I prefer to man the grill because she can't grill worth a damn. But I don't have any preconceived notions about her "rights" as it were. I believe she has the right to do any thing she pleases as long as she is actually capable of doing it. Same would go for any person really.

We actually played a high school team(Lee High School) that had a girl on their football team. I believe she was layed out every time. I admired the hell out of her persistence but you could tell she did not belong on a football field with 250 pound linebackers blitzing right through her. The bad part was that her own team was giving us crap about it. Its like" Oh wait...the rules changed since there is a girl out here". Uh...no...they shouldn't change. If you want to play a flag game...go do it elsewhere. Hell...half of us were trying to hurt each other. That was football for the lineman and defensive backs. Try to hit someone as hard as you possibly can.My problem always was that if you took a woman and put her in a rough situation...you had to wrestle with your own conscience about whether or not you would go full force. If you don't...then it costs you and the whole experience is not "real". If you do go full force...then your an ass because of it. Either way you lose.

s? How many games would the woman have to be excused for for her time of the month? Emotionally, physically, playing to full ability while dealing with unavoidable issues.

If they played, it would obviously have to be in the AL. I've seen women try to bat in the NL (anyone who has seen Ben Sheets with a bat knows what I'm talking about), so for obvious reasons, they would do better in the AL. Plus, the AL is home to the DH, which is like half a ball player anyway; women might make them look silly even if they can contribute more to the game.

I think pitching is where it's at for women. If they can get the job done, I think it would be great.

My wife just said she is going to be barefoot in the kitchen, cooking, so she started it!

I don't know that a woman's period would stop them from actually performing. There are women athletes all over the world that say otherwise. But the pregnancy issue would certianly cause problems. Then again...I think most female athletes would know well enough to keep their body in a state where there wasn't a chance of something like that causing them problems. I have even heard of some female athletes quitting sports for a while to have kids.

Of course it wouldn't.

It's misogynistic to claim it will. Garko and NYCrules seem to think women can't function at a normal level whilst menstruating. There are many powerful women in the world, and like you said many in sports, and it doesn't slow them down one bit.

Women can do all sorts of things but I wouldn't think they could always compete with men at sports. Tennis and golf and race car driving are three venues I think they could. Maybe soccer as well. But there are some sports where a man's extra upper body strength are what gives him the the added advantage over a would be female participant. Take hockey or football for example. Samoan or not...I just don't think so. Baseball requires a whole lot of upper body strength. Both in hitting and throwing. A woman might, just might be able to pitch in the majors. But like I said...what if she beans an opposing player. Now the whole rules have changed. What could result in an ass whippin or battle royale now takes on a whole new meaning.

As for women dunking...who cares. Let one of them take a hard shot from Dwight Howard or Ron Artest in the stomach and they will be rolling on the floor.

I can see soccer more than tennis. I am sorry, us (men) hit it significantly harder than the best women. They would not stand a chance. However, in bowling, soccer and driving I could see it being more equal (fairness on the playing field).
