Breaking - he was just ruled ineligible.

I like the fact that Cabrera asked to be removed from consideration.

Good. He's actally being honorable about it.
Now will he give his All-Star Game MVP Award back?
To win the AS MVP award don't you have to be able to speak and be understood.Good. He's actally being honorable about it.

Since he won't have enough plate appearances to qualify, he won't appear on any future leaderboards. Is he just intelligible? His stats have to stay though right? There's now way to erase them with out throwing off everyone he played with and against.
Dont kid yourself, he's not being honorable.
He's trying to rebuild his image he destroyed and get more money from a team
Also MLB & MLBPA agreeing on something this fast is great in its self!
Melky pulled himself out, if he hadn't they would have just added an 0-1 to it and his final average would have been that. And not for all suspended players only players that "served a drug suspension for violating the Joint Drug Program."If I understand this right, they are suspending the rule about increasing PAs for suspended players, correct? In other words, if Cabrera had had one more PA before getting busted, there's nothing that could reasonably be done?
Such an interesting case.
You need 502 ab's to win it. his total is 459.
I understand that, but I'm asking if a player can pull himself out (HEY HEY!) if he already has 502 PAs.Melky pulled himself out, if he hadn't they would have just added an 0-1 to it and his final average would have been that.
