However, I don't know why you are complaining. You decided that is how high you would go and you won it. It's not really anyone's fault as such.

I disagree. If it was shilled he has every right to be ticked. Just because he decided how high he would go, doesn't mean the card would go that high. It's not a store, it's an auction and if no one else is willing to go near you're price then you don't have to pay you're price. You'll have to beat the next high bidder.

I mean I guess that could make sense, but from what I've seen, there really isn't any proof that he even got shilled. I might be wrong on that and just have missed it, though.

Yea, I definitely don't see clear proof of shilling (at least not that affected the final price). I just disagreed with the statement that because he decided his max bid he shouldn't complain even if he did get shilled.

i have bought from him. I won a McGwire buyback card that goes for 400+ , i got it for 334. The auction was 307 the entire day before i won it with a last minute snipe. If any card would be shilled that would be the kind of card. A buyback mcgwire auto for 334 is a absolute steal.

I swear, I'm beginning to think eBay actually SUPPORTS shilling, as they changed the rules to mask bidders, making it nearly impossible to PROVE that there is shilling going on. What could you do if you knew it was shilled? NOTHING. You could complain to eBay, and all they would say there is no real proof... shady company that eBay.

The auction activity looks normal to me and I have bought from this guy before and been nothing short of happy with the item and his auctions. I think everything looks fine including the integrity of the seller

The guy has sold a lot of fake patches, but I think he is a high volume seller who buys collections and sells them.

Though, I have suspected shilling since it seems for other cards, that his go for more than ebay value. I remmeber Chansi Stuckey Bowman Sterling autos /1800 were going for no more than $2 and his went for over $10. Not a big deal, but I have noticed other auctions of his going over market value for Stuckey and others I collect

I agree. I mean, why wouldn't they? Higher sales prices equates to higher final value fees in eBay's pocket.

Snipe what you're willing to spend. Simple.

You didn't get shilled by the second highest bidder. That bidder is actually Meawickedmon. He has actually picked up 90% of that sets 1/2 and 2/2 Jeter autos.

Never heard of him shilling.

He actually did make a post on BMB ages ago explaining that him and his wife both packsearch and cherry-pick boxes. Validated it by calling it a "skill".
