Long story eBay/ PayPal related
I sold a jacket couple weeks ago printed my shipping labels through eBay as I always do. I get a message from the buyer asking why the jacket was going to Connecticut & not to New York. So I immediately thought I may have just scanned the wrong item & it was a simple mix up but I had no other items going to conn. I message him asking if he just recently updated his shipping info he said no. Turns out it was his parents old house address and he basically says it's my fault that he gave me the right address, I told him there's no way I could have just came up with his parents old address out of the blue. I call Ebay they say they have no clue how I got the address & they can't tell when it was updated, call PayPal they said his New York address is his confirmed PayPal shipping info. So my question is how did this happen?????
Luckily I tracked down the post office where his parents mail was being held until they move to their new house & got them to forward it to his New York address.
Crazy part is PayPal said if he filed a claim with eBay I would prob be ok because the error probably happened on their end, but if he filed a claim through PayPal I would be SOL.
He got the jacket. & thanked me for my efforts to make sure he got the jacket.
After about 3 hours on the phone between post offices, eBay & Paypal
