Yet none of those are as "nice" as yours. I know mrwhitesox30 has some, maybe several logo patches from this set that he has purchased since release and we've seen other parts of those sleeve patches since the product came out. He knows what he's talking about.

I saw when the set was released and there were a ton of nice ones...you have to realize the nice part of the logos went on at least some of them.
I got a nice "T" for tulo when they were released, and was outbid on several MUCH nicer ones. Surely not all the nicest ones are fake...

I never said the cards from this set do not have nice patches/logos in any of them. In fact, I acknowledged that there are some very nice ones out there. The thing about your tulo is that it is really easy to tell it is real by the stitching and by how the letter is cut in half (which is how ud cut nameplate patches for this set). In addition, it would be much tougher to fake a letter than a logo. For other players, I can name what type of logo patches have been included as I've seen multiples of them (reggie jackson: elephant and ball, joe mauer: patch with the outline of minnesota and two people, zimmerman DC sleeve from red jersey, etc.) but nothing stands out about the hamilton. If you choose to believe the hamilton is real, that's your deal. Just saying that most evidence points to it as being fake and trying to help you out.

What is the "most evidence" points to the hamilton as being fake? Because you haven't seen it and because the seller had too many premiums? I haven't seen any evidence yet...I am more than willing to listen. What is your opinion on the Ripken?
The Ripken is good. Whitesox30 has the other half "IP" that fits your Ripken Perfectly. I have the letter "e" from the front of the jersey that has the same stitching and jersey material so they did use the same jersey for all of them. I dont think anyone is questioning the Ripken.[/quote:riap0z0g]

Someone early in the thread was questioning the RIpken...
Do you know what whitesox30 paid for his? Did I overpay at $350? Seemed fair to me (and IMHO the R should be a premium :D ), but who knows...I would love to see a scan of his.

That could just mean that the guy has collected some premium patches and some are fakes and some aren't. That doesn't meant that he is faking his own, but maybe. I am not too quick to judge. ...he isn't that one guy in NC that everyone knows anyway ... I know what you are saying though. I have collected a ton of premium patches, and if you look at my bucket you would think some of mine are fake because I have a lot of "NICE ONES", and some may be, but i dont think so...anyway, look at the ultimates on ebay...all have nice patches.

I would also consider the way that the patch is cut to be inconsistent with other patches from this set. For the jersey numbers and nameplates, it looks as if those parts were cut out before deciding how the swatches would be used for this set. Take this chipper jones for example:

IMG_0437.jpg

If the red section was sliced in the middle, ud could have created two 3 color patches instead of one 2 color patch. Also, I believe sleeve patches were generally sliced into thirds: left, middle, right. Therefore, I would expect the star on your patch to be located closer to the right side of the window so that you could see some white to the left of the flag, and possibly some jersey swatch, depending on how the sleeve patch was cut out of the original jersey. That would make this the "left" side of the sleeve patch.

I know you're not gonna believe me and that I won't be able to change your mind so I'm just going to leave it at that.

And for the ripken, the different color boarders allowed topps to create more 1/1s. I've never really understood/been passionate about the 06 topps sterling jumbos so I didn't want to give my opinion on it. But based on the other patch, I don't see how you can argue that it is not real.

INRE JOSH>> It's not that i don't believe your opinion..I believe you are giving your honest opinon. I beileve there is possibility it is real and i believe thre is possibility that it is fake...it just doesn't matter to me unless there is evidence that it fake.

INRE RIPKEN>> Yes, I agree, I am 99% confident it is real...but unless there is a published picture from the manufacturers you really don't know 100% for sure on ANY patch, and even then you don't know 100% (grin)...

No one should be 100% comfortable in any of their patches, even if the manufacturer themselves say they are....regardless if a 1/50 refractor can sell for hundreds of dollars, that cost pennies to produce, a few hundred for a nice patch (real or not) which costs the manufacturers a lot more to produce, makes a whole lot more sense.
