I am serious too. He is unreal. 40 HRS at 18 Years old

Well, I disagree. If you didn't own his cards, I might take you more seriously. We all have your own opinions. And mine is that anything over $125-$150 would be SILLY, unless he started with a splash.

If he does the heyward thing with a bunch of homers in his first week there's no reason refractors won't hit 200.

He has an advantage over heyward in that his Bowman Chrome RC Autos are actually his first cards. Less to compete with.

If Montero does the heyward thing.....I can't imagine what his rookie refractors will hit.

I sure hope to find out :)

Agreed with most of that. But it has become obvious that no one cares what year the chrome autos are from. BUT, there is a much crazier fan base in Atlanta then Florida. AND, I don't think there is a chance that he gets the hype that Heyward got. You aren't going to hear Pujols comparisons. As much as some on this board are hoping that will happen, it likely won't.

Just an opinion bud. I have been wrong many times, and right quite a bit also. Just my thoughts.

I agree with Mudcatsfan. Heyward was ranked as the fifth best prospect according to BA's top 100 list in 2009 which is virtually the same ranking as Montero and Stanton this year, yet Heywards 2008 cards didn't blow up in 2009 like Montero and Stanton cards are doing in 2010...if you can follow the mixing of years. I really think a first year first auto makes a difference.

Isn't the person claiming them to be $200 using a crystal ball also? JS

I'd put money on the fact that refractors will get at least $180 each at some point. Look at J-Hey. Gets called up, couple of dingers and a handful of RBI and boom, $200 for a SECOND YEAR chrome auto. Stanton's is first year and has every bit of the J-Hey Kid's potential. Just my .02

My take is the Heyward craze is going to trickle down to other top prospects. I do believe Stanton is going to get a lot of hype too. We have already seen his base chrome auto rise from $30-40 during the off season to $75-80 at the start of the minor league season. Refractor autos are at $125 now. So with a callup these should see another bump.
During ST they were comparing Heyward and Stanton to each other so the hype will be there. Only if Heyward keeps performing this way Stanton will be compared to Heyward.

Especially when people see a Heyward base chrome auto selling for $200-225. Who knows how high Heyward autos will go by the time Stanton gets the call. $200 for a refractor may seem like a good deal.

Heyward may be a boom to the prospector

One ref sold at $125, I wouldn't say that is the price, 2 of the last 4 to $83 and $90. I am not saying the dude won't be a stud. I just think Heyward is kind of the perfect storm. I can see them getting that high at some point. I just don't think he will get called up and hit $200 the first day like Heyward did.

Agree 100% with Skrip here. It would have to be the perfect storm for Stantons to get there.
