Would You Pay ***IF*** FCB Became Subscription Based?

My local newspaper's online site (azcentral.com) is going to start charging for their online access starting in September. ($10 per month/$120year.)

So I was wondering IF (I am NOT saying this will be or is happening) FCB went subscription based, would you pay?

FWIW, most people in the comments of azcentral said they will not be paying the new fee.

I think the only way I would pay would be if there was some value added products like actual price guides that reflect current pricing, inventory programs, or free submissions to the group grading.
The site is awesome because of its members but I think alot of them would leave if they had to pay especially considering how down transactions have been and how the board is only really focused on baseball versus other sports.

Most of our papers here have some kind of online subscription and only allow about 10 free pages veiws a month, and they will not put some of the Breaking News in the free section, because they want you to buy the crap.......So I just view them from my phone , even your paper the AZCentral since I have friends that live out there, in Phoenix

Most people come here for the community, not the site itself. The site is its people. If there were a charge for those people to be here, many would leave in the site with suffer and go under.

There are countless free message boards regarding the hobby. You would be nuts to pay to use one over the other.

This isn't a news paper, it's a form of social media. Having a subscription here is the equivalent of paying to use Twitter or facebook.

I would leave. I no longer read the local newspaper web site or the SacBee online because they went to a payment system. There are plenty of interesting things to read on the internet that are free.
