I think some of you failed to realize that the OP did not win the auction.

3rd try actually, lol.cubfan131 said:I sold all my Colvin stuff 2 years ago. He's basically been hot for a couple weeks but is still only hitting .281/.311/.479 for the year in his second try at AA. Unless he can learn to take a walk he isn't going to contribute anything at the major league level.

Well, I should know since I have watched him here at Tennessee for the last 3 years. He has flashes of being a good player, but most of time, he just looks very average. If I was pitcher, I'd throw nothing but high fastballs and breaking balls in the dirt. Gets him every time.cubfan131 said:Hallsgator said:3rd try actually, lol.cubfan131 said:I sold all my Colvin stuff 2 years ago. I stand corrected. Also add in the fact that he was demoted to A ball earlier this year and hit only .250 there and it doesn't look good from him. Sure if it makes it to Chicago and does anything that card will easily bring 300-500 but I just don't see it happening.
He may end up like Ryan Harvey though.
I've seen him over 20 times over the past 3 years. I have seen his development, or lack thereof, so I am speaking from first hand experience.plainwhitejerseys said:It's fun listening to all the justification for Colvin's sale prices being so low. As if nobody knew why his cards don't sell for much. Oh yeah, this guy with so much potential is starting to turn his game around and develop into the player he was expected to be...don't believe it! He was bad last year and the year before, which means that he will never develop!
I mean, maybe he will, maybe he won't. At this point, it's very low risk, very high reward. But again, if people were wiser, I wouldn't make so much money.

Now there's a name from the past. I still have a sizable stash of his cards from 2003 including a gold refractor. I should have sold 4 years ago but I kept holding out because of his power potential.
He is having a bit of a resurgance this year in the Rockies system and he is still only 24 so I still have a slight chance to cash in if he can make it to Coors Field.

Agreed.
Honestly, I don't even know why people respond to PWJ. All he is a troll. Every board he has been on all I see him doing is trolling.
It's sad that a grown man enjoys trolling baseball card message boards.
steve76 said:Why do you have a picture of Bobby Lashley in your profile. You should have a picture of Brock Lesnar in there as he is going to crush Lashley when they eventually go 1 on 1.
