Who was the last super hyped Yankee prospect to actually perform? Cano?

Cano would be correct

It was Munson for sure! :?

Oh wait...

Jeter
Rivera
Posada
Pettitte
Soriano
Cano

And, please tell me which American League team had the MOST home grownplayers on their roster. Anyone?

i dont recall jeter, rivera, posada, pettitte, being mad hyped! the use of thurman munson was humor. i was sure someone with such a witty and creative avatar would approve.

You where prospecting when they came up? Or is this just another blanket statement? Cause Derek Jeter had a High school autograph card because he was so hyped, but I guess you know what you are talking about.

no i am pretty sure i like most of the other baseball fans spent time reading stories about phil nevin, jeffrey hammonds, charles johnson, brien taylor, chipper jones, ben mcdonald, reggie sanders and manny ramirez from that draft and the previous year or so... i dont recall anyone mentioning him in with those players. i dont recall him getting much top prospect hype before 94... and even then if i remember right he was a light hitting all defense guy... but hell it was almost 20 years ago... so maybe you pinstripe boys had a boner for him because he was cute with a nice ass for pinstripes... or because you get ****** for any first round yankee pick but i only say that cause i like to make blanket statements. or maybe he wasnt that big of a deal to a all american midwestern boy with the dreams of making big singing and dancing on broadway.

i guess what i am saying is that he was under hyped for the only time in his life.

Really? Never heard that.
And then 3 years from now, people Buying them up and people sitting on high ends now will be bitching up a storm.

Like a previous post mentioned...There is no way in hell I would sit on more than 25% of what I had if I owned any of those cards

If you sold then when everyone said so, you left a lot of money on the table. Either way, Jason Heyward hasn't had a single MLB at bat and you saw what his cards did just on hype alone and a few ST at bats. Montero can do the exact same thing, probably on a larger scale since he's a New Yorker and his card situation is a little more clear even if he does become the biggest bust in Yankee history (which I don't think he will. Statistically I have no reason to believe he will be a bust). Those screeming sell are just looking for instant gratification if the prospect fails.

With JDs situation, I would move some things since he practically flooded the market with his last cycle of Montero auctions, but by no means would I unload everything.

I am slowly selling some of my Montero's.

I want to keep about 31 BGS 9.5s

10 base
10 refs
4 X
4 Blues
2 Golds

1 Contenders Auto 9.5

Still have about about 30 raw/BGS 9's....i will try to unload those.

So...you mean, my accusation that all you were doing was creating hype on this board and trying to inflate prices because you were going to be selling them off soon, to which you told me was not true, actually is true?

The hell you say!

I am not trying to create hype, when someone is already hyped.

You were and HPC was right, but whatever. Actually other than you I haven't really heard too many other people talking about Montero so there was a alterior(sp?) motive. Good luck with the rest.
