Yea, he had a rough first stint in the Majors. Got called up, struggled. Got sent down, reworked his mechanics, then recalled and dominated. I think it was around 2002-2003

Another stat thats very unusual, and incredible IMO

look at Roy's 2000 stats,
67.2 IP, 107 Hits, 87 Runs Allowed, 80 Earned Runs, 14 HRs allowed, 42 walks, 44 SO's, 4-7, 10.64 ERA

Why would the Jays let this guy start 13 games with these #s, and then keep his a$$ the following year! ??

Makes Zito #s this year look HOF like :)

I havent thrown seriously in 25 years but Im sure I can do better than those #s.

Ive remember the 2000 season of Roy's for a few years now ever since he turned it around. He was my fav pitcher in AL until he became a "Whiz Kid"

Because he was a 23 year old, former 1st rounder. He was also also successful in the previous two seasons. One bad year is not going to make teams give up on a guy, especially if they see something they can fix, as they did in Doc's case.
