The Yankees have agreed to a one-year contract with Hiroki Kuroda, pending a physical, tweets Jack Curry of the YES Network (https://twitter.com/#!/JackCurryYES/sta ... 6921535488). The deal will pay Kuroda between $10-$11MM in 2012.

Would you rather have Roy Oswalt for 1-year $8 million or 1-year of Kuroda for $10-$11 mill?

We don't need Kuroda!!!!!! It is 10 Million down the toilet. Without him the rotation looks like this: Sabathia, Burnett, Pindea, Nova and Hughes. I can live without Kuroda. What happens to Garcia now? Colon has not been resigned yet, but look at what we have in the minors. Betances, Banuelos, Warren, Phelps, Mitchell. I would rather take one of these players instead of wasting 10 Million...

There is no way Cashman brings in Pineda and Kuroda without punting AJ. Unless he's dealing Hughes, but I highly doubt it.

And what's the harm bringing in Kuroda for 1 year? That blocks no one and clears salary for next year.

The Yankees in one night have built a rotation capable of winning in the playoffs. I know some Yankees fans were looking forward to the Montero era, but pitching wins in the playoffs and the Yankees now have a solid rotation.

Not better than Hughes. Hughes is going to be a beast this season and he has been working out and staying healthy all winter. He is a 18 game winner when he is healthy. Kuroda will never come close to that. I agree that he is better than Garcia and Burnett, but knocking Hughes out of this rotation is not for me.

jbone, you should really take the home glasses off and look at this realistically: Kuroda HAS been better than Hughes the last 3 seasons.

Hughes won 18 games BECAUSE of the Yankees offense, not because of his talent.

The $10 million is chump change to the organization and is for ONE season.

CC, Pineda, Kuroda, Hughes, Garcia/Colon/Minor League Star A is a HELL of a lot better than what the Yankees had yesterday.

Unless the Sox, Rays or Blue Jays starts out hot and win a few series from the Yanks early in the year, I can see the Yankees flirting with 95+ wins again this season.

The Rangers should keep a look out, seems the AL may be a 3 headed beast now.

bitter at what? lol

AJ is signed through 2013 and is making too much $ for them to just get rid of him...he will still pitch

As someone who enjoyed Kuroda pitching for my Dodgers the last couple of years and hoped he'd sign for another year I'd say Yankee fans should be happy as he's a solid performer. Not like the $$ matters when you're the yankees...

CC. Pineda. Nova. Kuroda. Hughes/Garcia.

AJ is clearly out of a rotation spot. Yes, he'll pitch, but for someone else. They'll eat a ton of the salary to move him and do it gladly. Not sure how you could think any differently. You think Cashman brought those two guys in and resigned Garcia without the intention of moving Burnett? There's 6 guys on the chart ahead of him, 5 of them indisputably.

Bitter as a Red Sox fan. Cashman just pulled off a very solid trade for a young stud pitcher (and a huge upside one in addition) dealing from depth in the organization.

lol i doubt they will eat $33million, besides no one would even take him. Not even for half his salary...the Yanks overpaid and will have to live with that.

I'm not bitter at all about the trade...Pineda sucked in his only start against the Sox last season
