[quote="Anthony K.":3bmlvfpv]I'm late chiming in to this thread, but did anyone NOT predict Dice-K to get lit up?

I did...As a Sox fan, I get a little queasy when his turn to pitch comes around.

+1. He's done pretty much what I thought would happen and what has happened with Japanese/Korean pitchers that come over. Good first season or two and then down hill.

As far as the biggest bust in relation to money spent? An emphatic no. I hope Carl Pavano isn't THAT far out of people's memories already.[/quote:3bmlvfpv]

I think Kevin Brown was a much bigger bust then Pavano has been, relative to when their contracts were signed and production after signing.

He crossed my mind as I was typing but really was not sure on the contract/money spent so I left him out. I know his wall punching didn't help a whole heck of a lot. Did you read Torre's book? I was actually surprised about Brown, didn't think he was that messed up.

On a side note, Torre's book is a good read if you haven't read it yet and want something to read.

Typical Dice K game, the Sox actually get close to getting back in it and that moron allows more runs.

I noticed it at the library today, I plan on reading it eventually.

All I know is that Kevin Brown was given $120 million to not be a top 40 pitcher. It was basically a charitable cause because he produced **** once he got that contract.

Is it just me or are Youkilis and Pedroia two of the most comical players in baseball?

They aren't bad players, I'm just talking about what they do on the field.

The funniest image I have burned in my mind was when my sister got my wife and I tickets to see the Sox/O's at Fenway right before I deployed in '07. We were five rows behind the Sox on deck area and at the beginning, before the game started, Pedroia and Ortiz were standing next to each other talking. It really looked like a David and Goliath scenario.

Pedroia just seems like he'd be the coolest guy to hang out with. He is always joking around. Youk is funny in a different way.

This would be a great time to have Swish and Posada.

Hopefully they are able to PH.
