all the things I loved about the product. I went back to an old message board and looked up the old 2006
thread. What I saw was a solid product and collectors each trying to get a few cards they needed. I didn't
see a card company screwing up the odds or promising cards that wern't there. I almost wished that Strasburg
had never gotten into the product. I miss the days of trading one mini for one mini and spending 1.50 to ship
it just because you need that one card and think you will never find it. I miss helping out a player collector maybe
a guy who collectors some unknown player. I remember one year a scientist all over the DNA cards.

What topps took from us long time Ginter collectors wasn't our money, but they took everything that was good from
the product and flushed that down the toilet. Ginter has never had rookies in it and I hope it never does again. The
true genius of this set isn't the Strasburgs or the Heywards, but the other cards, the code cards, the dragon cards
deadly snakes, the yo yo champ (well maybe that was stupid).

Its funny 2006 ginter had one of the most amazing autograph checklist ever. Ryan, Ripken, Bonds, Arod, Musial...etc
but when I look back at that message board thread, none of that was ever mentioned, it was just a bunch of
collectors trying to get their numbers crossed off.

I hope topps goes back to those days next year. If anyone wants to trade numbers shoot me a PM. Thanks for reading.

Ummmm, maybe someone hasn't heard yet, but there are MAGIC BEANS in the product this year!!!

Beans.jpg

MAGIC BEANS, THEY HAVE FINALLY GOTTEN AROUND TO MAKING MAGIC BEANS!

I think it's funny that some people will actually spend money on magic beans. Would you not be able to tell if a pack or cards contained a box of tic-tacs?

That is what Im talking about. I would trade an Elite Dustin Ackley Autograph card for that beans card.

Actually, those are French Vanilla Jelly Bellys, and they ARE magic. Mix them with two Strawberry Jams and you'll see what I mean.

Mrs. Mudflap is extremely tolerant of my collecting, moreso than most I would say. Hopefully some of you will meet her at the National. On occasion, I will open up mail in front of her and show her what I picked up, and she is somewhat interested.

I can imagine the exact look on her face if I opened the mail up in front of her and showed her this.

"Really Jeff? Really? Magic beans. Wow. I sure am a lucky girl."

RCs in A&G add to that set's reputation as being a 'hodge-podge' set people love to collect, so although big RCs may be in this year, they may not be next year. IMO the set should be as unpredictable as its reputation.

A lot of hobby newbies and novices may not understand A&G yet, but will become more familiar with it just like any other product made this year.

To me the Stras mania just adds to the Ginter tradition. Just never know what and how sp some cards can be. Just love the hysteria only Ginter mixed with a little Stras can create. Just got back from a week vacation and getting caught up on the sickness know as A and G.

Every year Ginter has been made there have been "MLB RCs" in the set. This year is no different then any other year Ginter has been made except there are RCs that people want in it this year...

I believe it was an egregious mistake to omit Vizquel from the final checklist.

Strasmania? Maybe. But surely adding Omar to the mix would add some much-needed excitement to the overall product quality. Who should I address my strongly worded complaint letter to?

There's nothing missing from Ginter this year - just too many people bitching and moaning about 1 card. People that have no idea what Ginter is and what it should be. That 1 card drove the price up ridiculously. I do think the case prices will settle down a bit once the noobs realize how hard a pull it will be and stop trying

Too many prospectors got into A&G not fully understanding what they were getting themselves into.

Bingo, this has muddied the waters and exaggerate prices. Some autos are selling high and when the PR of 190-240 hits like previous years they will crash.

"Investors" may be a more accurate term. But whatever you're calling them, not knowing what they're getting themselves into certainly is and will be a recurring theme for all products throughout the year.
