Youkilis wants DH in (NL Parks) Interleague and World Series

i love the argument about international soccer fans being so much more devoted to soccer than americans are devoted to, well, anything. im not one to put america on a pedestal just because i live here and its annoying when people do that but we really do live in the most sports obsessed country in the world. we spread our allegiances around more and have a sense of respect for other people and their property and all the sudden we're lesser fans? unreal.

I actually went to a place called "GOOGLE NEWS" and typed in "INTERLEAGUE"

I was intregued by an article title "PLAYERS WANT TO USE DH IN NL PARKS" so I clicked it. It was an MLB.com link that opened to the Red Sox website.

Youk said what alot pf people have said about the DH in National league parks, nothing new.

besides arguing balls and strikes slightly more than average, youkilis does not have a history of whining.

Have it in both leagues or have it in neither. And balance the schedule. It's idiotic to force certain teams to play four contenders when their division rivals play four patsies. Divisions are won and lost based on an attendance gimmick.

Purists run Baseball and will for another 20 to 25 years so you have nothing
to worry about.. You will have your pitcher hitting in the NL for a good portion
of your life. What rules have been changed in Baseball?? Baseball needs to change
or it will die a slow painful death. We don't care about the "numbers" or the "divisions" "pitcher hitting"as much as the "purists" think ..

Are you saying that by them being able to hit and making the opposing pitcher work instead of being an automatic out like a pitcher batting (who often bunts on the first pitch and sacrifices an out with runners on) slows down the game? If so, perhaps you should find something else to watch.

I will guarantee you that AL games generally last longer than NL games. Anyone that has watched Red Sox or Yankees games is well aware of this fact. Having the DH creates more offense, which is going to lead to longer games. Baseball is "timed" by outs being recorded, so the longer it takes to record outs, the longer the game is going to be.

There are plenty of reasons why I prefer the NL style:

1. Creates a faster game.
2. Requires each player to be able to field a position.
3. Helps level the playing field between small and large market teams (one less position for the big boys to spend big bucks on).
4. Creates additional strategy regarding pinch hitters and pitching changes.
5. Good hitting pitchers give themselves an additional advantage.
