IMO Raines deserves better...

He certainly does. He's a no-doubt HOFer in my mind.

On the flipside, I really don't think Morris deserves it- not even close. But it looks like he's going to get there.

If the Bagwell voting results say nothing else, it's that steroid concerns are not that much of an issue with him.

Take a guy like Palmeiro and his 500+ HR and 3000+ hits...and his 11% and 12% votes these past two years, Bagwell's 56% on his first ballot makes steroids a non-issue in the vote. In his case, it's probably the bizarre "he's not a first ballot guy" thought.

He got 41 percent on his first ballot last year, but your larger point is still valid.

With Larkin going into the HOF, I thought this might be a good time to ask, but has anyone seen a 1995 Score Gold Rush "redeemed" stamped copy available anywhere??

Larkin is a class act, got to meet him away from the ballpark a few years back when the Reds still had their ST site in Sarasota....He signed this hat for my son...couldn't happen to a nicer guy

One awesome "stat" of Larkin's is the fact that he played nearly his ENTIRE career at his main position and all for the same organization. Only 18.1 innings out of 17,573 innings played did he play a position other than SS, and those were games at DH during inter-league play and filling in for injuries at 2B. That's pretty remarkable considering most of the shortstop greats played other positions throughout or near the end of their careers.
