More on Greinke pulling a Cliff Lee....

Greinke told reporters (including Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) that he enjoyed his time in Milwaukee and would be open to returning if the Brewers pursued him in free agency. The right-hander described his choice to not sign an extension with the Brewers as "a business decision."

Jean Sergura Chromes are doubling, if not tripling in price right now. FYI. He's also got 2 Platinum releases. Milwaukee fans ain't no slouch in the hype market either.

Can anyone give a quick rundown on the two AA pitchers in the deal? I know nothing about them. Don't know much about Sergura either, but I've heard of him.

Same.

Definitely a good 'now' move for the Angels, leading the Wild Card while missing the playoffs the past few years.

I guess the question now is, who has the best staff in the majors? Angels, Phillies, Nats, other?

Fine by me! Glad to see Profar and Olt aren't going anywhere yet.

Texas will counter and get James Shields or Garza. Angels can have the head case.

Is there something besides being diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder that makes Zack Greinke a headcase? What has he ever done that makes people question his brain so much? Seriously, I'm not trying to be an ass here. Did something happen in K.C.? Cause for the year-and-a-half he's been in Milwaukee he's caused absolutely no issues with us....except for the basketball game but that was a totally different situation.

He's been a complete professional in Milwaukee.

That would be great. Got the Angels #1 prospect. I honestly would have preferred Cowart.

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Sports Cards by Freedom Card Board.com

That would be great for Milwaukee sure, but do they have the money to spend on "Cliff Lee" like the Phillies do?

Well....I root for Greinke as much as you do..seriously...he's awesome...but spiking the ball and getting ejected b/c of his own ******* doesn't help your post, LOL

Seriously...what professional does that?

Its been a long day, heard about the trade thru a text from my brother while watching David Goforth No-hit the Kane County Cougars for nearly 6 innings.

First off I am disappointed in what we got in return, I am not that familiar with Pena or Hellweg but looking thru my Twitter timeline the last couple of hours since the trade I am not any happier on the return. I know that what the Brewers got in return was what they were looking for, a good SS prospect and young arms, but I was hoping Melvin would get them from better farm systems than the Angels whose system isn't what it used to be. I am not a fan of the quantity arguement either and would rather have had one better SP prospect than two that seem more likely destined for bullpen duty. Even if it meant adding a small piece along with Zack. I hope Segura changes my mind on the deal.

I am getting tired of hearing Melvin and Attanasio saying we are going to make every effort to sign xxxxxx(Carlos Lee, Prince Fielder, CC Sabathia, Zack Greinke), until they don't. I would love to eat my words having Zack Resign as a Free Agent and I will send daily apology letters to both Melvin and Attanasio if it happens but I am not that worried.

I am most likely in the minority as a Brewer fan that isn't happy with this trade, but now I at least have 3 more reasons to listen to Huntsville Stars Games online than watch the Brewers on TV.

Its an elaborate plan by the Milwaukee Brewers and Zack Greinke. He's going to give Milwaukee a discounted price during the off season. :D

Can you name me one professional ball player that hasn't overreacted and has been not thrown out of a game?

I know it would have been nicer to receive a top tier prospect and some players that were more major league ready, but you have to try to look at it from another angle. Greinke is just a rental player and a free agent at the end of the season. Because of Hamels signing there is no way Greinke was going to accept the Brewers current offer. Unfortunately baseball has turned into nothing but greed for the players. I remember CC telling fans that he loves to play in Milwaukee and loves to hit, but when he got offered a mega deal from the Yankees, all that love went away for the money. It's extremely rare that a player will stay if they get offered more money elsewhere even if they will never have a chance to spend that money in their lifetime. That's the one thing I will commend Braun for, he signed an extension for way less than he is really worth in today's market.

Getting back to the Greinke trade. We got 3 mid-high level Double A prospects in the trade. Greinke may now have a shot at a ring and who knows, maybe if he gets that ring he will return to Milwaukee, but I wouldn't hold my breath. To be honest, I was hoping he would be traded to Texas thinking we may have a chance at an Olt/Buckel deal, but I hear that Texas didn't want to part with Olt for which I don't blame them. Pitchers are a dime a dozen in the minors so that's a wash in my book, but at least Seguara is young, hits for decent power, average and speed. The only comparable player I can think of what we had in Milwaukee was Hardy before something got in his head and he tanked. If the Brewers held onto him, we would have received a sandwich first round pick and probably would have drafted a pitcher for which our last year first rounders started out great (Jungmann & Bradley), but have fallen from grace since then. We at least now have two pitchers that have proven themselves through Double A ball with pretty good stuff.

It is unfortunate however that Milwaukee sent Segura to the minors. He was called up by the Angels so I am sure that has to hurt his confidence a bit to just be tossed back into the minors. I don't necessarily agree with how Milwaukee handles their minor league system, but I am sure players will be called up soon enough to test their skills in the majors and see what they may be able to do for us next year.

I would say helmets get spiked at least 1 to 2 times a game.

Exactly. Helmets get spiked, bats get tossed, arguing of balls of strikes, pitchers swearing on the mound.....there are so many competitive players and what happened to Greinke was that he was upset at himself and did something "unprofessional". I would be more pissed if a player didn't show some emotion in the game.
