Adam - I have my phone tethered to the work computer, and the institution internet connected too. How can they both be connected?

When I disable the schools line, I can use my DNS IP mask through the 3G phone connection to get access to US sites. I can then switch over to the wired school connection, the DNS IP mask is still there, even though I disable the phone connection. How does this work? I can't directly set up this computer through the DNS server with the school connection usually.

Computers are stupid

Jesse: They should be two totally separate connections under your network settings. You may need to go into command prompt at do ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew then ipconfig /flushdns

At that point, you should be able to type nslookup and see the IP/server address of the currently used name server. I wouldn't see why it's swapping settings between two different connections, though. I don't use tethering, though.

Adam, they are both there when I connect the phone and have the school line.
When I connect the phone it takes over for some reason (USB, it thinks it's 456mbps but it's only a 3G wireless). Maybe because XP thinks it's faster? Just to be safe, I disable the school connection.

I can then go into my wireless internet properties, enter the DNS, go through unblock-us.com (the DNS server, make sure it's loaded), load my US content (Ive got UK/FLA on watchespn.com) then switch to my landline, which doesn't have the DNS info, and it plays just fine. In HD because the school line is 50+mbps.

I ran nslookup with espn content playing:
hs22-2.sait.ca
10.197.2.22

This will allow me to get around chat being disabled during Ustreams. The institution has certain things blocked like chat, so I should be able to load chat and then dump the wireless connection and load the wired.
