Start building my 1961 Topps Yankee auto project set. Some will be hard to find and others expensive, Have all the living team members cards already for ttm. Just getting the addys and payment info if needed by the player. Hopefully I can trade for Mantle and Maris slabbed ones.

As for card collecting itself, No wax for 2011 will be ripped at all. Singles will be traders to trade or sell into one big card before January 1st 2012. Going to amass a decent amount of cards, list on bay and buy the best single I can. And repeat that for the following year.

My father worked at a casino and he had a Yankees dinner for high rollers and it was 61 team members, 1st baseball players I have met. Sadly my brother felt all the autos were his and he sold them years ago. He tried telling my parents he had traded for a Pete Rose rookie and I took it and traded it. So they gave him my autos. Turns out after four years of brining it up, he had a 84 topps Rose. He sold them to a kid in school back in like 89 and I lost out on them. Been dying to build a team auto set but never went through with it. Sadly I had that older brother who thought everything was his and he should get only the nice stuff. My mom actually put the wrong name on a Christmas present and it was a gi Joe and he cried over it till I have it to him. Doubt she put the wrong name but they spoiled him.

I completed mine. The toughest might be the Duke Maas, as he died fairly young and autos are pretty expensive of him. Elston Howard can be tough, too. Best of luck in your quest!

bump this up for those who have yet to set their goals.

I guess you are the perfect person for me to reply to!

For the new year, I'm going to work on improving my Nolan Ryan PSA Registry. Already started again recently, as I am sitting at 29th, but will be 23rd as soon as my two new purchases arrive. I just need to add a 1975 and upgrade some of my older ones.

I'm also going to work on my Albert Pujols registry sets a little more.

And then my final goal of the new year is to get reduce the size of my collection and sell off everything that doesn't mean much to me. As I reduce I may use the money for the above to registries or to by Pre-War cards or 1950s stars.

Great thread! I have five main goals for 2011:

1) Finish up the master set of my 2010 Allen & Ginter card (I had card #165 for being the Ginter Code champ). I have the following: base card, base mini, A&G back mini, black border mini, no # mini, Bazooka mini, mini silk, 1/1 blank back, 1 printing plate. I still need the following: 3 printing plates, 1/1 wood.

2) Start and finish collecting the master set of my 2011 Allen & Ginter card (I cracked it again this year).

3) Continue working on my master mini set of 2010 A&G. Ultimate goal is to have all regular mini, A&G mini, black border, no number and bazooka of cards 1-350.

4) Organize my collection

5) Get rid of a good chunk of my cards, either through trades for things I want/need, ebay sales, or gift packages to fellow bloggers/FCBers!

My girlfriend made me two shadowboxes with custom shelves that fit one touches! So my 2011 goal is to fill them with auto/GU/#d cards of iconic 90s-00s stars.

Really fun to read what everybody collects and what they hope to do this year.

I have no idea how many new HOF autos I'll be able to afford this year, so I'm going to say my goal is to add 5 (and I will be VERY lucky to get there in a year).

I am also up to 50 HOF autographed first edition books, and I would like to add 10-15 of those (can be had pretty cheap).

I also hope to make a serious dent in the 2001 Topps Tribute GU set this year.

Those are the only things I collect anymore.

1. Add more autographs to my "Minnesota Born Minnesota Twins" bat...maybe even try and hunt down Winfield this year after getting Molitor last year.
2. Convert all of my football and basketball to baseball and just collect baseball for now on.

It's been a weird year for me collecting. I failed to get my 2010 objective (a Honus Wagner or Cy Young autograph), but did pretty well otherwise (got a Nap Lajoie AND Rabbitt Maranville instead, along with a bunch of other items). I won 2 different Babe Ruth signed items, but ended up with neither (both were returned due to undisclosed issues with the items), and also ended up swinging and missing on a third (a ball signed in 1948 with Ruth, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Stan Musial, and others on it). I'm not sure why I was even going after them, since I already have 2, but oh well. All in all it was a pretty good year, albeit a bit odd.

For 2011, I'll be reupping the Wagner or Young autograph (or possibly making it both), along with adding at least one more expensive Hall of Fame autograph that I'll find during the year. Other than that, my other goals are to try to better organize my collection, as it's really taking over my apartment.

1. Add at least one card to my M110 set (Wagner, Lajoie, Chance or Chase).
2. Add the following graded cards to my collection: T206 Mathewson portrait, '53 Topps Robinson, '33 Goudey Ott batting, '49 Bowman Snider, 53 Topps Mays, '33 Goudey Hubbell pitching, '32 US Caramel Hornsby, T206 Cobb green portrait, '48 Bowman Berra, 49 Bowman Campanella, T206 Johnson portrait, '71 Topps Greatmest Moments Munson.
3. Add the following modern cars to my collection: '03 Finest Mays auto, '02 Tribute Lajoie bat, '02 Tribute Speaker bat, Prime Cuts Grove hat, Prime Cuts Foxx glove, '93 SP Jeter, '94 SP Roriguez, '87 Fleer Bonds, '80 Topps Henderson
4. Like everyone else, there are cards that no longer fit in with my collection that I'd like to see move on. However, just like everyone else, if I don't want them ... nobody else does either. :)

Last year was a good year. I finally got all of my vintage cards graded. I picked up a '33 Goudey Gehrig, a '56 Topps Mantle, a '53 Bowman Color Reese. A few nice modern cards (but mostly football) including an 'old' Ted Williams patch. But the real additions to my collecton (representing 2/3rd of what I spent on cards this year) were the M110 cabinets of Mathewson and Cobb.

Spent a bit too much on wax. Did my first ever case. Got involved with case breaks at the LCS. Bought a lot of boxes (too much basketball) and got completely burned by Timeless Treasures. Probably no wax this year for me until peer pressure at the National.

Good luck to everyone on their lists.

I'd like to get back over 100 in my T206 set. Down to 94 now after selling off 18 (I think) when I found out I had my first kid on the way. I should be able to get to 100 easy enough, and luckily everything I sold off I didn't care too much about, other than a Cobb. And those are always readily available.

I'd also like to get a Honus Wagner autograph, but I have a feeling that one is going to wait until 2012 at the earliest.

Sell high on all my '08 Bowman Chrome Mike Montgomery stock.
Buy low on alot of '10 Bowman Chrome Wilin Rosario auto's.
Sell high on '10 BC Alexia Amarista Auto's
Sell high on '09 BC Alex White Auto's
Sell high on 08/'09 BC/BS Charlie Blackmon Auto's
Buy Low on '10 BC Tyler Chatwood Auto's
Find a few Under the Radar Auto prospects to invest all that money in when the rest comes center stage.

Asking an awful lot aren't I.
