Re: Jeremy Hellickson to make MLB Debut UPDATE with PHOTOS
Attended the game last night. Bad news was I didn't have the zoom lens in the bag, but the good news is I got the Longoria ball (read below). Helly pitched very well, probably the most impressive thing was he would throw any pitch in any count to any hitter. Ask Jim Thome about that 3-2 change-up that he missed by five feet.
Highlight: I got the Longoria ball before the game. Anyone who has been to a Rays home game knows that Longoria plays long toss up until about a minute before game time. He finishes and goes to the door behind home plate and tosses the ball up into the stands to a fan. Well today I was the only one that was paying attention and he pointed his glove at me, chucked the ball some 80 feet and I caught it before it hit the unsuspecting old woman in front of us. Got a nice ovation from the others around us for the catch. Cool thing about the ball is that it was a 'pearl' with a practice stamp on it. I tried to take a good picture of the ball but I couldn't zoom in very well on the sweet spot where they have the stamp.
Pictures from the game below, like I said no zoom lens with me.
