Interesting variation in 2005 Donruss Champions Materials

I don't know if this is known already, but it's something I discovered tonight:

And you get the idea. Many of the Impressions Materials cards seem to be available with or without the Impressions stamp on the center band. I've never noticed this on any of the ones I own, or have seen in person. Has anyone else found this before?

I believe that it was just an un-numbered parallel. I really like this set, plenty of nice patches.

The Impressions Materials set weren't numbered.

Definitely some oddities in Champions...

I have these...

Both numbered /165, yet Beckett lists this...

2005 Donruss Champions Impressions Combos #342A A.Dawson Bat-Pants/165

2005 Donruss Champions Impressions Combos #342B A.Dawson Jsy-Pants/50*

Yet, the highlighted one doesn't exist. Dawson doesn't have a B variation in the set.

I did some more checking on COMC, and it seems this only affects cards with jersey swatches. None of the bat cards had this variation, although many of the Impressions Materials listed on COMC only have one copy available. All the ones I own have the foil stamp, although I did pick up a foilless Glaus last night, just in case. If this is a legit variation, it certainly gives plenty of player collectors something extra to look for.

Or you could save me the trouble and just ship the Bagwells to me...

The two GU Champions cards I have both have the Impressions stamp on them. I never noticed any without it, but then again, I wasnt looking. Now that info will sit in the back of my mind, popping up whenever I see those listed for sale.

Champions was an interesting product; filled with plenty of GU duds, but also odd items.

I pulled this from my box - not sure if it's from a hat or what. I also pulled a Prior hat and a Jeff Suppan auto (he doesn't have many).

Wish I could, but I don't own them just pulled the scans off of COMC. Looked to see if any of my PC players had this variation, only found the Glaus. Even if this is just an error, and not a legit variation, I'll still grab them if I come across them.
