As big a moron Hamels was hitting him, then admitting it...this was worse by a mile. He could have screwed up his, or an teammates career.

Yeah, no kidding. The guy has NO respect for bats whatsoever.

Unless it said something to piss him off, of course.[/

Glad you found it funny. I for one don't. If you're a professional then act like one. How many kids now are going to think its ok to throw bats when they strike out?

I cant stand people like you. You only post when you find something negative to post about. Bryce has done numerous good things, but not a peep from you about those.

Typical.

Since getting beaned by Hamel and stealing home a few minutes later, Harper has had a rough 5 game stretch:

2/21, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 BB, 5 K, 15 LOB

I'd give the kid a day off to clear his head....

If only I had diabetes I could be immortal, but since I don't I guess I can't prevent dying.

Oh Frow, if we only still had the "Thanks" feature, then i'd create 4 new accounts, just to thank you 5 times for this post.

I embrace his fire. These kids need to stop getting those participation trophies and stop with the "we're here to have fun" mentality. You don't succeed by sitting down on the bench and saying "aw shucks". You succeed by letting passion run through your veins, sometimes so much so that you chuck a bat at a wall. Bryce is a great role model for those who want to achieve more than just showing up for the day.

Let's be honest; who here hasn't chucked their phone, gaming controller, or tools out of frustration? It would be different if he spit on the umpire or flipped the bird to the pitcher. I'm actually okay with him letting out frustration by cucking a bat.

+1 That type of drive and fire is what seperates great players from participants. He wouldn't be the player that he is if he just accepted defeat

I previously mentioned that I don't think it's that big of a deal (but the injury should be a wake up call that he has to be careful as a professional athlete ::cough:: no trampolines).

But all this talk of it showing his fierce competition and his drive to succeed seems a little misplaced. Smashing your bat on the wall is not how you improve or prevent future strikeouts. You take a look at video, study the pitchers, take some extra swings in the cage, talk to you batting coach...

If you went to a toy store and saw a kid lying on the ground crying because his mom won't buy him a new video game, do yo applaud the kid's determination and lack of willingness to accept defeat? Do you think that kid's "drive" will help him be a winner later in life? Obviously not...you think he's a spoiled, petulant little child.

There is a HUGE difference between being mad at yourself for a personal failure and being mad at your mother for not buying you a toy.
