Does anyone know the estimated or concrete print-run on 2012 Topps Mini base cards?
I'm hearing 2,580 sets. Estimated over 7,000 boxes. I'm not 100% sure where this info originated, but its what I've heard.
If you do the math, there are about 300-310 cases produced. Some where in the 2600-2800 base cards per player.
Which means in total you have only 1200 autos, if those autos were evenly distributed from a print run perspective across the 31 subjects that would be less than 40 per...
which is why a Kyle Drabek auto can sell for $30+![]()
Just ran some numbers....
341 Boxes = $17,050
If you can sell them for $70 on average you only have to sell 243 boxes to break even.
You can rip 50 boxes for pure profit and if they send you full cases.... You can put back 2 sealed cases for later profit in case the boxes go up even more.
But the main thing is being able to sell them at $70 per box... time will tell if that is possible.
I imagine if they are selling for $75 dlvd now, the more that are ripped, the higher the price will go in the future.
Wow...there was quite a bit of activity on ebay after Topps sold out. Interesting. I wonder why Blowout only went to $69.99 when they are selling consistently on ebay at $75. Oh well, bodes well for my investment either way.
Lets just see how strong willed I can be...me and unopened wax don't get along very well.
I find it extremely hard to believe that these would hit $100 a piece. If the autos were a bit easier, maybe. But I don't know how the value could possibly be there to justify the $100 sale price. And again, the singles prices have been steadily going downward for 2 weeks. NOW, if the singles prices level out, and start to jump again, then I think the $75-$80 price tag could make sense.
Since these sold so well why does Topps not do more direct sales? If these were allocated to the big dealers what would have been the price point for Joe Collector?

BO has them @ $75 now....
Dang...Chris Park is on top of it!
Heard he's still trying to buy them on dealernet at $53 each. Not sure anybody is parting with boxes for a $3 profit.
Why didn't they just pony up and buy 50 cases direct from Topps? Doesn't make a ton of sense
