Hey all. Just had a dream crushed. Our local park district created a new position for a Director of Marketing Communications. I thought it would be perfect for me, so updated my resume (been 12 years since last needed it), wrote an outstanding cover letter, and applied. Salary wasn't posted though ("commisserate with experience"). Today was the close of applications. I got a call for an interview, but was told right away would be $20K less than making now. Sigh. Would have loved working 2 minutes from home instead of 2 hours commuting every day - plus working for a progressive park district and the golf course it owns. I thought it would be lower, but not that much. If $10K less, probably would have been worth the gas/car savings and time savings. Oh well, should be happy I have a job.

Here's 2 of my pieces of from today. Dint have a picture of the bobblehead right now since my sister broke his hammer lol

The archives card I got in the 2 rack packs that I opened on this trip. I got it before I had even heard about the willingham signing so it worked out well. The ball makes 5 autographed baseballs on this trip, which more than doubles mt previous collection of 4

That sucks man. My situation is almost like that (in terms of pay) but I'm going to go for it anyway.

Adam- I was guessing that would be right, but I wasn't sure. Glad you guys had a good time. We always loved going there.

FloriDave- Yeah, generally Crystal made me stop by the outlets as well. We both went for the food at Lambert's, but she added shopping on as well.

The wife and I have been in Gulf Shores, AL since Monday. Sucks coming back home.

Be careful going back into Alexandria. That's where the LA state trooper gave me a $222.00 Welcome to Louisiana. I was going 80 in the 75 mph zone and was coming up on a reduced speed zone. I was in the process of slowing down as I came down off of an overpass. The 65 mph sign was at the bottom of the grade so I thought I had time to slow down to 65. He lit me up, pulled in behind me and said Louisiana law states that the 65 mph zone started at the crest of the overpass because that's when the sign is visible. I think he knew I wouldn't fight it because I was from Florida. Unfortunately for me, he was right.

Grillin', chillin' & swimming sum up my plans pretty well. How about you and the family?

Not a clue. US Open, Stanley Cup and the CWS are on if there's nothing else to do.

Louisiana is notorious for speed traps.
