Rays

Kiermeier CF
Zobrist 2B
Longoria 3B
Loney 1B
Myers RF
Joyce DH
Jennings LF
Escobar SS
Hanigan C

Cobb
Archer
Moore
Odorizzi
Smyly

McGee

Rays could be a bit of a sleeper if Moore comes back healthy and Smyly builds on his late season work last year. Tough division, but every team in the East has some flaws at this point.

yes he is, hoping refsnyder is brought up this year to join him.

If you count Pitchers too then on my list Betances and Phelps as well as Warren (who will be up), Pirela will likely be a bench IF (homegrown), Murphy at back up catcher is homegrown, Pineda was traded for by using our homegrown stuff. Gregorious was traded for using homegrown guys.

But yeah the FA's are Tanaka, Sabathia, Tex, Rodriguez, McCann, Ells, Beltran. Thats a boatload of money. UGHHHHHH Only ones worth their deals right now are McCann, Ells, and Tanaka. Sabathia was worth it earlier in his deal but not now.

Big transition year it looks like.

I'm hoping the Yankees start Bryan Mitchell. He looked good in a few spots last year.

I wouldn't count them out on Shields or Scherzer. IMO they can contend for a wild card or division if the teams all stay the same and the Yanks can add on of those guys. That rotation would be fine and our bullpen would be real good. The offense would also be solid. We really just have to count on some bounce back seaons. Beltran is the big one. McCann played alright but hopefully a new hitting coach will help these guys. We need Beltran to play well, McCann to up his batting average and hope that ARod can play to the tune of 240- 15 hrs-50-60 rbis. That would drasticlaly help our offense. Tex needs to be healthy too.

Norris and Sanchez will get every opportunity to start.

Reyes SS
Martin C
Donaldson 3B
Encarnacion. 1B
Bautista RF
Navarro DH
Saunders LF
Pompey CF
Izturis 2B

Bench- Pillar, Goins, Smoak, Valencia/Tolleson

I personally think Navarro will be moved this off-season. Arizona is reportedly interested. I don't know who slots in as the regular DH in that situation though.

Otherwise I agree with your lineup. It's a bit odd to see a catcher in the 2-hole and Bautista so low (for him). If Pompey's bat comes around he'd make a nice top of the order guy.

Cespedes in the two hole is an interesting thought. The negative is he doesn't take walks. The positive is that hitting in front of Cabrera should mean he gets plenty of fastballs to hit. If I'm the Tigers, I hope Castellanos is able to bat second, with Cespedes batting 6th.

Tigers would be smarter to let Scherzer walk and spend money on their bullpen. That rotation is plenty good enough to win in October. The bullpen, not so much.

Not many guys in the line up take walks but agree that it would be ideal if Castellanos could mature into that #2 hitter allowing Cespedes to hit 5 or 6. As for Scherzer, my comment was as much because I think Boras might convince Ilitch to spend.

The rotation is pretty nice, but that lineup can certainly be pitched to and I don't think the defense is going to be all that great either.

Yep the lineup needs upgrades for sure, cuddyer isn't the big bat we needed. Hopefully the pitching can carry the team and then get a big bat mid season.....

I would bat Adams 5th and Peralta 7th. Peralta is solid, but Adams is going to break out this season. Best overall team in the NL in 2015.

Oakland - there is no such thing as a set starting lineup, it rotates every day. It'll be some combo of this:

SP:
Gray
Kazmir (until he's traded)
Parker
Griffin
Pomeranz

Closer: Doolittle (until he's traded)

C: Norris/Jaso/Vogt
1B/DH: Butler/Freiman/Canha/Davis
2B/SS: Semien/Sogard/Punto
3B: Lawrie
OF: Crisp/Reddick/Gentry/Fuld

If opening day were today with this roster that won't be in tact come april, something like this:

SP: Gray

Crisp (CF)
Gentry (LF)
Lawrie (3B)
Norris (C)
Butler (DH)
Reddick (RF)
Cahna (1B)
Semien (SS)
Sogard (2B)

Is Parker definitely supposed to be back for the start of the Season?

Last I checked he was on track to laugh in the face of TJ for his second stint. We'll see though. I think he's got a better chance of pitching for the A's for half a season than Kazmir and Doolittle :)
