So what would greinke have to do to win ? He can't control who he pitches for. Would he have to have an era below 1 before people think he deserves it?
Yes he is great at what he does, but why cant we compare him? If Ichiro walked more and hit for more power, wouldn't we all agree he would be a better player?
I didn't look into RISP stats (I would actually be interested if you know a site with RISP stats for a players career) but I'll take your word for it. Nowhere did I say that a person has to be a power hitter to be a good player. I also said he is overrated because he is often talked about as if...
Jeter has advantage in the 3 biggest stats though in OBP, SLG, OPS. Also, this comes as a shortstop. Position scarcity is very important. Ichiro of course has the advantage in speed and fielding his postion but Jeter has been one of the best offensive shortstops throughout his career.
Another note...crawford has had a very similar season to ichiro, but he doesn't get nearly the same amount of attention (due to several reasons, but a big one being that hits and avg are highly overrated). In fact, if you happen to look into sabermetric fielding stats like uzr/150, crawford has...
I would say he is overrated by some people because of the number of hits. As you said, his obp is relatively low in comparison to his avg. He is a very good player, but I would put him a step below the true stars of the game like Pujols, Mauer, HanRam, etc. His career ops is good but not great...
Not too sure about the font on the team names but it looks like a pretty good effort overall. I actually like this years design a lot though so it's a step down for me.
They are both doing great...I can see lind continuing with 30+ HR's but I foresee some regression with Hill (I hope its not true though). Hill needs to work on drawing more walks.
Sorry, but does anyone have a recent beckett around? Someone on ebay is interested in my extra brett cecil gold refractor but wanted to know its current book value. I guess some people still look at that even for prospect cards. Thanks in advance :D .
edit: that would be his 2008 bowman chrome gold
You seem surprised for some reason...why?
Halladay and Sabathia have similar numbers in many categories but Halladay beats him by almost 0.3 in era. Obviously Sabathia leads by a wide margin in Wins but I don't like to deal with silly stats. Also, if you want to bring division into the...
Hanley over Fielder if we are saying who should win and not who will win (voters like HR's and RBI's, both poor stats)
I looked at a few different stats:
1) OBP - Ramirez (.416 - 3rd), Fielder (.410 - 5th) - pretty similar numbers, basically a tie
2) Slugging - Ramirez (.556- 8th), Fielder...
The jays got hit twice this game and plenty of times last series... if the same thing happened to the yankees, yankees fans will be crying about it and would demand retaliation...carlson threw well behind posada...posada should have just taken it like a man and not take a cheap shot at carlson...
Re: Good Ol' Sonny Boy
Tampa would be winning many divisions outside of the AL East ... they went from last to very good because they were stock piling bunch of high draft picks and their young players were gaining experience the past few years
