That's how I feel. They are just human. I guess I got kind of jaded meeting a lot of Congresspeople and other noteworthy individuals. Then, when I went back and met athletes, they were just regular guys who could hit a baseball. All of my encounters really put athletes in their place, and...
That is absolutely sick! I have a couple of those Bagwell Platinums, but they aren't slabbed. How much did you pay for yours? Congrats on a great pickup.
I don't think that's the issue here. The new feedback system is great for buyers, so we can finally be honest. There are so many positives I was forced to give less than scrupulous sellers, for fear of ruining my own feedback rating. If buyers don't pay, they should get unpaid item strikes...
Hey,
I had a seller leave me a retaliatory negative positive, because he was mad at the negative I gave him. This person took nearly a week to ship the card, wrapped it poorly (not even a top loader), and charged $2 for a plain white envelope. So he left me a + feedback with negative content...
I bought something from him, and it reeked of cigarette smoke. Then I put it on eBay, and he bought it back using another id. At which point, he put it back for sale as teawolves, only at more than double the price. I wouldn't deal with him again, unless he had something that was extremely rare.
That's really too bad. I remember when I was 14 and was in the same position. Just couldn't afford most of the high priced Bagwell stuff, because I was getting next to no allowance. But now that I'm older, I have more money to spend, and I am really enjoying picking up all that stuff I...
You really should. While there is a lot of fake crap out there, a real game-used item of your favorite player is just special. See my website below for my Bagwell collection.
After getting actual game-used, my patch cards lost a lot of their value for me. Ended up selling most of them...
Oh, I guess it's just luck. The day I went was a school-day in Mid-May at the old Astrodome. Maybe fewer of us were demanding, so that's why we got that many autos. But meeting with so many Astros and getting autos for free had a lasting impression on me. I even had good experiences when...
Is this a new thing? When I went to Houston back in 1998, I got like 10 signatures, including Moises Alou, Billy Wagner, Jeff Bagwell, and countless others. What's up with the Astros lately? Just not as fan-friendly?
I only collect really rare stuff. Plus, there are only a few sets that truly interest me. If the item is oddball or one of a kind, then I am likely to bid. I haven't gotten into too many bidding wars of late, as the Bagwell stuff I'm looking for rarely pops up.
Thanks for letting me know. Perhaps if I wait another two years, the others will show up! You just don't see too many of these, and I search Bagwell pretty much every day.
Really? I didn't realize that there were four separate plaques for Biggio...is it the same for Bagwell? If that's the case, then I'll have to watch out for the others.
None of the numbers are game-used, are they?
I hate doing it that way, since I get so nervous. Plus, I am going back to school this weekend, and I wanted to have it before I left. What happens with me is sometimes I see that an item I want has few bids going down to the wire. Then, I just forget and lose what could have been a great...
I don't know if they are in the Beckett, but these were put out by Playoff Absolute in 2002, the year before they did the glass plaques. I have a glass plaque from 2003 of Bagwell. Used to have a Berkman, but sold it. The glass plaques from 2003 aren't as rare as these ones, as I recall. My...
Thanks a lot! Still looking to add some more Recollection Collection stuff, as well as rare 1990s inserts. Thanks also to magicpapa, for allowing me to pick up a Bagwell Pinnacle Pin. Really nice!
About a year ago, I sold a lot of my Bagwell collection to buy some game-used items. Now that I am satisfied with my game-used pieces, I am working to build my baseball card collection up. This time, I am being more focused and only collecting certain cards from certain sets. Here is my...
Saw that one too. The seller wouldn't even consider under $600 for it. But for $1000 you can buy nearly a whole g/u jersey, so who needs the logoman anyway?
