I apologize, reason I was stating the mind game is if he's dating hot supermodel and whatever outside things were being discussed, that could have some bearing on his performance and or impair his ability to work through an injury.
Baseball is a mind game. You're going to have trouble regardless of your talents and skill if your mind isn't in it. Not saying Verlander's isn't but who knows.
If it was some tiny Texas newspaper I am sure they would have gotten the name of the son of Nolan Ryan right. It might be the land of steers and queers but I'll bet you a buffalo nickel they know the fireball king when they see him.
I've been wanting a tattoo for awhile now but haven't decided what it will be. Baseball related sounds like a very good idea. I'd go for a knight wearing A Cubs coat of arms.
Speaking of Nirvana have you seen the Rolling Stone Limited Edition issue that's out?
Whether or not a manager knew about PED players on a team shouldn't matter. It's ultimately not their responsibility. The players should bear the burden of their mistakes and not those who did what they could with what they had. If a manager supplied or encouraged steroid use then they should...
Not completely on topic but I feel that whenever I watch a Cubs game, they will lose, then when I don't they get their wins*. Granted they've always sucked to some degree so losses are like candy to them but still can't help but feel if I didn't watch that game or this game they would have won...
Speaking of cropping if they could just crop out those silly uniforms! I mean damn! I definitely don't want to be able to identify players by their teams... Yuck!
Just messin with ya man. ;).
The fact that you did grab something nice is icing on the cake. ;). I usually grab boxes of old 90's stuff because I love that decade, over-saturation or not, but I've been Wal-Mart hunting a bit lately to catch one of those Harpers or Trouts everyone was talking about, in an attempt to catch up...
If you want something go for it. Even if you pull nothing but duds or just regular commons its usually worth it if only for the excitement of pulling something great.
The last two pictures,
It's my first time making my own topic I believe and if I did it wrong apologies ahead of time. For the Gwynn Boyz, bottom right is that book I was recommending ya. Two books over from that is the Price Guide for that Noah fellow. That's what you'd be looking for.
Books. Baseball Books. Can't believe I didn't see it sooner. I was all set to get back into cards but just couldn't find a place to start. I didn't know what I wanted to collect. Cubs, Astros, Pitchers, Hitters, Big Names, Fav Players... no clue where to begin. When I jump into something I JUMP...
If you can get your hands on an old Beckett price guide paperback edition from 2008 they have a very well done history and background of baseball cards in the beginning. I was lucky to find my copy because for a while I was toying with the idea of collecting all Cubs, from all companies, from...
As long as he plays sober who cares? Wasn't a perfect game pitched on LSD? If you come and perform ie are still able to do your job, in this case play a baseball game, then it shouldn't be anybody's business.
-awaits application of argument and rebuttal attempts through PED reasoning-
Jobu bring bat good luck. Major League was a pretty epic trilogy (4th a minor league movie?) = Best Baseball Movies ever next to Sandlot. Willie Mays Hayes!
