.Did I not make valid points? Did I not ask valid questions?
It is nothing personal against you. It could have been any other member on this board and I would have said the same thing.
Please, be 100% honest. Had you got more autographs than you thought you should have, would you have said that it wasn't fair because someone else would get shorted?
Would I have said it wasn't fair that I got more autos, maybe, maybe not, but it would have taken getting autos in better than 1 in 5 packs based upon auto production and pack production. If I got wildly more autos I probably would have felt bad for those that got hosed. I'd have been happy to have the cards, but as of right now, I've only heard of 2 people who wildly beat the odds.
Had someone else posted how they were shorted after you did better than expected, would you had said you would contact Topps for them because they were shorted?
If they needed contact information, I'd have provided it for them. As I now know, they don't care.
Had you did better than expected, would you being paying attention to other breaks to see the rate with which they hit autographs?
Sure, absolutely. This is a big program and the cards are gorgeous. I'm very interested in others breaks as well as my own.
It's not attacking your character at all. I'm not saying you're a bad person or anything remotely close. It's just very simple, had you received more than you thought you should expect, you would have been happy. Who wouldn't, right?
Sure
If someone else, not a friend, not a buddy, not a family member, but some random member that you had never seen post before had the same problem, would you really say, "I'm mad for everyone". Honestly, I don't believe it. I'm not saying you wouldn't offer Topps' contact information, but I don't believe you would make a thread about how randomfcbmember1234 got shorted and it's crap that Topps did this. I don't believe you would begin suggesting that cards had been backdoored.
At this point in time we've heard one guy mention 2 people who beat the odds over a relatively small pack allotment. The program clearly wasn't handled as cleanly as it could have, and with most breaks falling at 1:10-15 it still begs the question "why?". If 1:15 holds up, that's only 17 autos per player released, if it doesn't, if it ends up more like 1:10 that's 26 autos per player. Where are the other half of the autos since they are numbered to 50?.
Spin it if you wish. I'm not trying to call you out on anything. You may be the greatest person alive, but I still wouldn't believe that you would lead a charge against Topps had you received what you expected or better.
That may be your opinion, and you've painted a very specific picture that right now hasn't existed for anyone, but I hope I answered your questions as honestly as possible.
To be more opionated, in busting the packs instead of taking the sure money, which was good money had you sold them unopened, you took a gamble and apparently lost when compared to what you could have made by simply selling the packs. If the rush you got from opening the packs outweighs the money you left on the table, then fair enough-- it was your choice and in that instance you came out ahead, albeit not financially.
While I can understand the OP's reason for being upset, doesn't sound like he should truly be owed anything. BCA, are you just trying to inform Topps of a potential problem, or get extra packs/autos for yourself? I'd be ticked if they hung up on me too, but in the same breath there is a reason they're called HOBBY packs and not PROFIT packs (yes, I know these were wrapper packs, but from hobby).
I opened 184 packs and got 11 autos (1 duplicate) and 45 Red Parallels
and I was shorted 7 packs..
If they would have put 7 auto packs in there, I would have 18 or 1:10
I also had 2 long white boxes with 73 & 74 packs in each...
1 box had only 3 autos in it....
8 in 110 packs
3 in 74 packs
Topps may have told employees, to give me less autos, since I was getting a lot of packs,
Just read this story on BO and if there is any truth to this we know where the auto's are going
I don't know about walked out the back door, but listen to this...
One of my VERY reliable high volume buyers was telling me about this guy he knows. Got 300+ Blue Wave packs and was sitting at a show opening them. When the dust cleared, he had 60+ Red Wave cards and 80+ autos. COMPLETELY shattered the odds, right?
Apparently he wasn't even phased by his good luck. As the story goes, he said, "My cousin told me I'd be happy with my shipment".
I have known my source for many years and has never given me a single thing to doubt him on. So, assuming this is all real (which I am), Topps has some s'plaining to do.
And no, I'm not naming names.
Take this from someone who was likely shut out in this whole process.
I think we should do a telethon for BCA.... Jerry Lewis isnt doing the Labor Day one anymore.... wonder if he is available for a Memorial Day one.
Jerry Lewis Memorial Day BCA Telethon - it could work
All donations to go to the "MallCopKJ Cant Afford Bowman Fund"?
Is that a not for profit organization?![]()
IF the insert ratios are blatantly fraudulent, BCA and everyone else has a right to ask questions.
I bought a redemption card (for a card for my PC) off the market for which I have just been made aware BLATANT INTENTIONAL fraud (far worse than this) may have occurred.
IF they do not redeem my card, there WILL be a lawsuit (for an issue in which I believe many others will follow suit)...
Someone peeled back the plastic the gray stuff is on and redeemed it already?
I mean not sure whats worse than that unless it was a 5000.00 cut that they decided to not have.
Im ready for a good story Brian![]()
This one will be a story for which grabbing a bucket of popcorn may not suffice..,,
