Re: NBA PLAYOFFS CHAT GAME's THREAD DAY 4!!!!!!!!!!!
In your first post you said that he went over and started jawing at him to draw goat him into drawing the tech. This is what I was complaining about. I never said it was the right thing to do to react and get physical, but it doesn't even reach that level if Varejao doesn't walk over and start talking. If he felt the need to defend his teammate after the hard foul on Lebron then he should have done that. Instead he went after a guy trying to get him to react, and when he did he threw his arms in the air to draw attention and backed away. It's very clear to me that he wasn't defending Lebron, and was trying to draw a tech. This is not playing the game the right way.
In both cases, the pushing/elbowing doesn't happen if Varejao doesn't play dirty. So I agree that Ray and Johnson were also wrong in reacting the way they did, but the reason I'm complaining about Varejao is intentionally putting himself in the situation for this.
Kutzy said:I expressly made my point about the violence. I dont understand the need to elbow someone as retaliation. There is a huge difference between violence and words to me. In all honesty all of the trash talk isnt playing the game "the right way". Trying to demean your opponet is wrong in every sense of the thought. I dont like Varejao, however I think its even worse that people pin the blame solely on him and never on the other person. As I stated several times, I think Varejao was wrong when he hip-threw Ray Allen, however, I believe Ray Allen was even more in the wrong for elbowing him. I think using words is much different than using violence.
