2009 Bowman Base Autos: Worth the Investment?

So I see some of you have 2009 Bowman Base Autos of prospects like Brad Hand and Mike Moustakas. Can anyone see the value of these cards increasing?

I'm a firm believer in the cheaper the buy-in, the bigger the per dollar profit.

A $5 base autograph can jump to $20 a lot easier than a $20 card of the same player can jump to $80. Why? Far mroe buyers in the $20 range than $80 range.

Take a guy like Manny Machado...his Chrome autographs have been selling closer for over $60, while his base Chrome singles are $3. Say he blows up, sure, everyone will want his autograph, but his base Chromes could easily hit $10...and I don't see his base Chrome autographs hitting $150, let alone $200 to make the math even.

Your strategy works well in basketball with second- and third-year autos of young players that are likely to become stars. For example, Russell Westbrook's common autos were around $2-5 at the start of his second year. Derrick Rose had similar percentage increases, and I suspect there are a number of other players that you could see this happen with.

In baseball, I have success with low-dollar autos turning into higher amounts with proven stars that change teams. You can normally make some money off of cheap autos when players are traded or sign as free agents, i.e., Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford before the year.

Half the reason to be on here is to show off our cards and incoming would do that. The other half is to look at the cards that other people are showing off. Stop complaining over what someone else likes to do.

This is all you need to know.

Buy the right players, and the stuff will go up no matter what auto it is. Just, TriStar, Razor, etc etc-sure, chrome autos are wanted most, but some people enjoy buying a cheaper auto.
