What do you see in 2009 BC that gives you the impression of Moderate to Strong? My impression of the CL is that it is VERY VERY WEAK.

Check out the secondary market sales of Tommy Hanson, Santana, and Freeman. Each of them getting around $50 per, and that is just preliminary sales.

They ALWAYS start off high when a product first releases. Then plummet to earth quickly.

I blogged my thoughts on the product at the link above.

I included a round breakdown for the base set (hint, there isn't one first rounder in existence) that I believe really shows how WEAK this base set is.

I graded out each of the subsets as well, let me know where you agree/disagree.

If they insert the AFLAC Autos in the product again, and can somehow do something on the card to differentiate them between the game issued versions, I may buy a few products to chase a Tate or Harper.

Harper can't be in anything yet.

Even his AFLAC cards? How is that possible? Strasburg and others had USA cards while in college.

I'd be stunned if Santanas settle above $20 per.

USA cards were "packed" out (boxed, actually). AFLAC cards were given out.

Topps, according to the contract with the AFLAC corp., cannot pack out these cards until the players have been drafted and signed with both the teams that drafted them AND with Topps.

Maybe I am bias towards the product since I am a collector of one of the FYC autos.

Only time can tell us how well the product fairs, for me, I would be thrilled with pulling most of the players from the Auto checklist.

Nice blog, and thanks for the shoutout.

I'm looking forward to seeing the AFLAC auto checklist. I'm guessing it isn't finalized yet. I did hear that they will in fact be serialized this time, for whatever that's worth.

I thought some of the USA cards where in the UD Series 2 packs.

Possibly they can make the Harper AFLAC a redemption then.

That could be helpful but even then, you are pulling 12 autos per case, 1 aflac per case and the rest of the hundreds of cards are base set.

So the fact that the base prospect set reeks, combined with no more FG set, now its WBC (gag) makes me feel ill.

The only auctions I've seen of Freeman and Santana have sold for under $30.

One piece of info we're still missing is the list of refractor parallels and odds/serialization numbers.

I for one am still interested to know if any changes will be made.

If anyone hears about this, please post it here. Thanks.

It would be nice if they kept them at the same odd/serial numbers as last year. A blue refractor out of /99 was far more appealing than /150 or /199

The base checklist is very weak, but it always changes by the time the product hits, so we'll see. The lack of Futures Game guys is dissapointing, was looking forward to Banuelos, Mejia, Gillies, and Heisey. Atleast Tazawa still made it in. Auto checklist is pretty good.

What if Boras just doesn't want to deal with Topps now. I think there is more than one person to blame for this.
