Re: 2009 BOWMAN DRAFT PICKS & PROSPECTS PICS AND PRELIMINARY CL

Guys calm down, we all know there will be changes to the list, probably some MAJOR ones too.

Correct me if Im wrong but wasnt Price NOT in the 2007 issue and Porcello wasnt in the 2008 issue when the CL went live?

Once Stras and Dustin sign autos contracts with DLP or UD, dont be shocked if Topps caves in

BDPP13 Seth Schwindenhammer OF BOS

Longest name ever  I feel bad for him when he gets an Auto....can't imagine fitting that onto a sticker.....one player I wouldn't blame for reducing his signature to initials.
Imagine SP Authentic By the Letter!

Update: Chris Olds was cool enough to send me sell sheets of 2009 BDP with insert production numbers. I don't see any difference from last year at first glance.

Pics will be coming shortly.

Re: 2009 BOWMAN DRAFT PICKS & PROSPECTS PICS AND PRELIMINARY CL

My problem with 2009 bdp is not checklist that will change with additions and deletions..The problem I have is the wbc cards....They have no place in a bowman draft product.Future game player where perfect....

If I was UPPER DECK OR RAZOR I would run with this '' With BORAS angry or not dealing with TOPPS THEY HAVE SOME NICE PLAYERS TO SIGN. I will just spend my money on 2007 and 2008 bdp...REALLY can not see buying 2009 bdp when you can buy 2007 for aroung 50 dollars...

THEY should fire the person who developed 2009 bdp,,,they are going to really take a beating

Looking forwards to the numbers. Any indication of AFLAC autos or the rumor about a new color?

No word on either of those.

Yuck.

Maybe BDP and RCs in general have passed me by. I really lost most interest in them after last years
Razor debacle. Now i see WBC cards in Draft? ugh

Re: 2009 BOWMAN DRAFT PICKS (PICS, PRELIMINARY CL & INSERTS)

A few thoughts:

1) Is it too late for them to scrap the WBC cards? I am pretty sure 85% of the collecting community hates these things by now.

2) WONDERFUL that they kept the base blue refractors numbered to 99.

3) PLEASE get rid of "Bowman Gold" - are these necessary? ::facepalm::

Couple thoughts from me:

1. It has been said and I'll throw in my complaint: WBC cards in Draft? REALLY? This is worse when they decided to throw Bonds in two years ago. I was really looking forward to picking up some Heisey cards from the Futures game.

2. Okay, I know no one cares about this part...but if MLB is going to employ this "RC" rule on the cards, shouldn't they follow it? Jake Fox has a "RC" from last years Sterling and now he'll be a "RC" in this Draft....

So he has a "RC" in 2008 and 2009...which one is his "RC?"

I might try a box or two of this. I might be the minority but I actually like a few of the autos. I like autos of Sanchez,******* and Minor. I am very excited to see a Minor auto in this product being a braves fan.

This is the only mention of him I have seen so far so I have to say that I think a lot of ppl are missing the fact that Tony Sanchez is most likely far and away the best auto in the set right now. Hype-wise and potential wise since he had a great pro debut, made the hot sheet quite a bit, and definitely could find himself starting on a Pittsburgh team that could use an offensive threat behind the plate sooner rather than later.

Aside from the Au's, (yes, I know it's been said) the base set sucks, WBC sucks, and if they don't have aflac au's, this could be a brutal break yielding one decent card per box.

Maybe I am bias towards the product since I am a collector of one of the FYC autos.

Only time can tell us how well the product fairs, for me, I would be thrilled with pulling most of the players from the Auto checklist.

I just wanted to point out that the term is "biased", not bias. It's an error that is made quite a bit on these boards and nobody ever points it out. I'm not trying to call you out, but if I make a mistake I want somebody to let me know so I don't repeat that mistake.

The mistake you made above is pointing out other's mistakes...something as small as punctuation, a mispelling, or the wrong vocabulary really need not be pointed out unless one's intention for doing so is trolling. (I am just trying to be helpful since you requested that you wanted it to be pointed out so that it was not repeated). ;) :D

Not exactly. I don't feel being educated is trolling and something as subjective as intention is not a matter in which you can educate. I was making reference to a mistake in grammar not to be a "troll" but because using a word the wrong way can be an impediment in your life.

If you filled out a job application and put "I would help this company because i'm not bias", then they'd probably throw your resume on the scrap heap. If this rant helps one person remember to spell it and use it correctly then it's worth it.

When I was a kid, I thought the term "Chest of Drawers", was "Chester Drawers", and put that in an essay and was docked points. I spelled it the way it sounded, and it cost me. Not that any of that is relevant, but if somebody had taken the time to correct me it wouldn't have been a problem.

Now back to your regularly scheduled product review.

 Okay bud, you keep on fighting the good fight! (however, you do realize that many of these post's here on a baseball card message board are not going to decide whether we score that job we were applying for- right? And that many of these post's may have error's in them because this is, in a sense, just a message board? If we were on Monster . com & requesting help while posting our resume's I could wholeheartedly understand your intention's & reasoning behind responding with punctuation/spelling correction's, but by doing so here on a baseball card message board it really only looks as if you are doing so to show your prowess in editting (or that you take a delight in calling out other's mistake's- not "you" in general but those who constantly show off thier "mad punctuation & spelling skill's" ). Oh & I wouldn't call it "educating" (an act of correcting another individual on a message board probably would be a stretch for that definition). ;) :D

The only way they could make the WBC set interesting is if they were autographed. Now a Autographed WBC set would be sick.

+1!

Probably impossible to do all the autos, but it would be sick.
