The real Abe Lincoln SP in 2010 Topps has finally been found and it's not the Hornsby.

I came across over this on JayBee's blog today: http://bdj610bbcblog.blogspot.com/2010/ ... d-abe.html

Start looking for your Milton Bradleys....hopefully someone can find the money card. I don't think one has hit eBay yet.

(Nevermind, the image isn't linking for me.)

Given the other post today concerning Bradley on this board, does anyone find Topps' choice of Bradley an interesting one?

It was a connection to the "original" Milton Bradley...the guy who made games and started the company. I guess Bradley made a litograph of a beardless Abe Lincoln or something. At least thats what Wikipedia says...so it has to be true.

Yes, but only because Abe Lincoln is a racist Cubs fan ;)

I'm the guy from the other board looking for info on the card. I have done hours of searching and couldn't come up with any info on the card at all. I called Topps and they said it was a short print but they wouldn't give me anymore information than that. They said that Topps may do a press release on it shortly but he wasn't sure about that either.

As far as I can tell, I have one and the one poster above has one. Forgive me for asking but, I would like to see a scan of it, not that I don't believe you, it's just for my own piece of mind. I'd like to get some awareness out there about this card since nobody seems to know anything about it.

I am assuming that it is a super short print and will hold a decent value, or people just don't have a clue that they have it. It's pretty obvious if you ask me.

Well Here is mine.

I pulled mine out of a walmart 36 card jumbo pack. It was one of the first packs I bought just after the street date. I hope you find one. Good luck.

Awesome. As far as I know, you and I are the only two that have one on record. Between this site, the topps site and Beckett. I have done hours of searching for info and came up totally empty. BCP has it mentioned in there but that was after I came out with mine. Let's hope this card turns out to have a decent value on it when it's all said and done. Topps won't release any information on it at all, other than it's a short print.

While I haven't been lucky enough to pull the "Lincoln" variation of the Milton Bradley...have you seen this other variation?

For the "why" behind the Milton Bradley card, here are a few facts.

Milton Bradley (the man behind the games like "the Game of Life") was a lithographer who made his first big "hit" with a portrait of the newly bearded Abraham Lincoln.

So yes, Topps "went there" and made a subtle, yet honest (no pun intended) play on Milton Bradley's name being the same as the board game company name. Of course, because it was Milton Bradley, Topps couldn't post a clue of "What would Abraham Lincoln's favorite player be?" because let's be honest...Bradley is no one's favorite player.

Did Topps pick Bradley because of the photo or the team? Well, considering the history behind the original Milton Bradley and Lincoln...it has nothing to do with the team.

At this point, Matt and myself are the only two on record having one. I'm sure there are more out there. I think that the people that have them either passed right by it like Matt did or are not reporting it. One guy on the topps forum did say that he spoke to a dealer in california and that dealer said he had one but sold it for 100 dollars. Something like 70 cash and 30 in trades. How reliable that story is, I don't know. Like I said, Matt and I are the only two that have any proof of having this card.

I got mine just after street date and was a bit confused about it, which is why I posted it on 3 different forums. Topps, Beckett, and here. Hoping that someone could tell me that they have one too and to get the word out on it.

When I spoke to topps, they told me that they could not give me any information about the card other than it is a short print. The guy said that Topps may do a press release on it and if they do, it will be soon. He did tell me that there is a good chance that they won't, but I find that hard to believe since they hinted to the card before they hit stores.

With Matt and I having this card and the word getting out, I think the hype machine will start rolling, or at least that's what I've been told, so we should start hearing more about this card and perhaps start to see some value to it in the coming days.

Thanks for posting that scan Matt. I believed you had it, I just wanted you to put it on there so we can generate some buzz about it.
