Big day for the Mavs!

The WCHA awards were announced Thursday afternoon, and Mike Hastings was named the league's Coach of the Year, while goaltender Stephon Williams was named Rookie of the Year, First Team All-WCHA and to the league's All-Rookie Team.

Senior forward Eriah Hayes and sophomore center Matt Leitner were named Third Team All-WCHA.

Williams was also the goaltending champion for the WCHA. Huge series for us this weekend, if we lose, we would most likely fall to being a bubble team for the NCAA tournament.

I loved going through the rinks. Gives me a lot to look for in Duluth. The site needs a content update but I'm sure that will come with the re-launch.

Did you ask them on Twitter about the 90's - 00's jsys? Someone did.

Oh and yeah, that was me asking on Twitter

MN over BSU in OT... ouch. Walsh was just in the wrong place in the wrong time.

I'm going to watch a little bit of the SCSU game before going to bed.

2 tough losses for the Beavers, was hoping they could pull off one win.

Purple Mavs sucked it up last night and will have to play again today.

Where will next year's WCHA tournament be held? Mariucci? Or will they take it out of state?

Big-10 will be at Xcel, NCHC will be at Target Center.

WCHA tourney will be in Grand Rapids, MI for 2014, then back at the X for 2015. They will be alternating between those 2 sites. The Big 10 tourney will be at Joe Louis arena for 2015, and will be alternating between there and the X.

I was surprised when the NCHC announced the Target Center... terrible venue for a hockey game

I think they were going for something unexpected and different. It's going to be interesting, that's for sure.

Michigan is up 5-2 on Miami in the 3rd period of the CCHA semifinals. This is the first time Miami has allowed 5 goals in a game all year. Michigan must win the conference tourney to get a bid in the national tourney.

Michigan plays Notre Dame tonight in the CCHA final. They're 0-4 against the Irish this year but are on fire right now. Go Blue!

MSU, SCSU, and UofM are in the tournament.

Sadly no BSU or UMD, but I expected that of course.

Mankato has a tough regional ahead of them... hopefully Miami rolls over and plays dead like they did for Michigan, and the Mavs don't suck it up like they did against Wisconsin.
