I hope someone's theory about the tougher autographs being is retail is true... I bought a jumbo rack case (324 packs) this past week. I'll post here if I hit any rare ones.

What did that run you? From where? Those being searched scares the crap out of me.

I recently opened a case and got 10 non-mlb Autos - Colin Montgomerie, Hank Haney, Phil Pfister, Bob Hurley Sr ...basically anyone not named Erin Andrews or Kate Upton unfortunately. If anyone's looking to trade or buy please feel free to PM me. I listed some on ebay but could pull down for a nice trade. Ideally I'd like to trade for an Andrews signed card or another $200+ auto.

My eBay name is ClownQuestionBro. Here are some of the Ginters I am selling right now - http://www.ebay.com/sch/clownquesti...2047675.l2562&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&rt=nc

I don't get it, a Ripken plate gets 180 dollars yet a red ink autograph numbered to just 10 gets only 100 dollars more? I remember people paying 600+ for
Ripken's 2006 Ginter autograph. Topps has done a great job getting us these awesome autographs, unfortunately they are killing the market on a lot of these
guys. How many stickers do you think Ripken and Musial and Ryan signed also? They could be in products long after they are dead. You used to think that a PC
full of guys like Musial and Ryan would always appreciate in value, but who knows now. I remember when you couldn't touch an on card heritage autograph of
Hank Aaron for under 400. Times a changin'

As far as past ginter cards that should only appreciate, how confident in these can you be:

Mike Tyson
Joe Frazier
George Bush
Hulk Hogan

maybe add the Bush and Kennedy ties to that and the Bruce Lee card?

Kevin, it seems that many of the SP players Red Ink will sell on par with the blue.....Fielder is almost the same price. So many people don't give a crap about the Red Inks and blow them off.

As for the names to collect I agree with your list.....I recently bought both the blue and red ink Frazier.

That sealed case was found on ebay from Wowzzer. I haven't seen another one listed since I bought mine. There is no way to search a 6 box sealed case of that stuff. I did hit 2 decent autographs that I sold already, Erin Andrews ($85) and an employee auto /10 ($60).

retail is never the way to go.

Kevin

Never if all you care about are the hits. I buy the stuff I buy for the guaranteed cards that I get. Those retail rack cases have 3 gold minis per pack. Those are bringing decent money on ebay. With 108 rack packs, I had 324 of them before I ever opened a pack. The price I paid was almost half of what it would have cost me at Target.

Do you guys think the Brees is another one that can only appreciate in value? I know there I an abundance of Brees sigs available, but with that one tied to his Super Bowl win, I think that could wind up being another big one down the road

I sold a Brees autograph last year right before the playoffs for 225 dollars. LOL It can't be worth that today!

Well, technically you're correct. One sold at the end of July for $220. One is up for auction right now; I'll be curious to see where that ends.

Last one sold for 129.00. He would have to win another super bowl to get to that level again. No way.
