No Walker, Jenkins, or Marisnick is a huge relief for me. Now I have to list my Eddie Rosario stuff...

I don't see why. Just because he'll now have a Topps auto is no reason to panic, especially if you got into them cheap. Not to mention his DEEE's were all redemptions, and since they all won't be redeemed, they'll be much scarcer than his Chromes will be.

I am liking who I dont see on there, mainly Felix Sterling. It will make my Valiant stash all the more valuable once he begins to dominate this year, which in fact starts tonight as he's the probable starter for tonights 7:05PM EDT season opener.

This is one of the biggest misconceptions in prospecting.

A big thing is the players performance-if he performs, you will do well. Sure, in a perfect world you don't want a chrome auto-but it doesn't mean you have to get rid of everything you have.

I have his 2010 Bowman Draft Stuff. I got a few Blue Refs for cheap... Think those will still be worth anything?

Yes and no. I invested a bunch into Oswaldo Arcia 2011 Bowman Chromes. Then he was in the next Chrome for the same year and his stuff just dropped like a rock. But you are right in the fact that if he becomes really good that the cards will all sell well again.

Is it really? I don't recall a single player ever whose other cards were not adversely affected by the addition of a Chrome autograph all else held equal. Certainly one can make money if the player performs well enough, but the potential takes a massive hit, and IMO predicting performance is difficult enough that you want to do all you can to ensure that if the player does perform, you reap the benefits.

(Xander Bogaerts Leaf cards are another guy I would consider moving...)

edit: Hultzen is another.

So for players that previously only had Leaf autos, what does it do to their stuff? Because a lot of people were only buying leaf because it was the only thing available. I don't think it reacts like EEE and still holds strong. But I guess we will see. Hope it does.

Now I need to find myself some jumbo stuff

Re: 2012 BOWMAN FINALIZED AUTOGRAPH CHECKLIST

ah, I guess I gave everyone a really good laugh--sorry for being a little ignorant when it comes to Bowman. I didn't realize you could only have ONE Bowman auto.

I know Kershaw has a 2006 bowman chrome draft auto and then another one in 2008--what are the "rules" behind that?

I mean, I see "1st Bowman Card" on multiple cards over multiple years of the same players so wasn't really sure that they any followed any sort of rules...

how does Bowman make these decisions? eg, why no Trevor Bauer?

You do realize he has a Chrome Auto already, correct?

You can certainly have more than one Bowman auto, but it's because he was considered part of the "prospects" set while in the minors. He had another one again at a later time after he'd been called up and is considered part of the "rookie" set.

In Bauer's case, he is still a prospect and has yet to be called up.

What were original presale prices?

around 800 for jumbo

That seems kind of low, I saw a couple of sites that had them at $1,019.

Although one of them is my buddy's shop, and he said that Asia is already contacting him on prices to ship cases over there. So I'd image an entire continent is going to ruin it for the prices.

Matt Moore elite autos? Anyone?

People also have the perception that once chrome comes out, Elite will suffer. This is a TOTAL joke. Not true, and I actually love the shortsitedness. Allows make to profit even further.
