I don't see why. Just because he'll now have a Topps auto is no reason to panic, especially if you got into them cheap. Not to mention his DEEE's were all redemptions, and since they all won't be redeemed, they'll be much scarcer than his Chromes will be.

A big thing is the players performance-if he performs, you will do well. Sure, in a perfect world you don't want a chrome auto-but it doesn't mean you have to get rid of everything you have.

You do realize he has a Chrome Auto already, correct?
gradedeflator said:ah, I guess I gave everyone a really good laugh--sorry for being a little ignorant when it comes to Bowman. I didn't realize you could only have ONE Bowman auto.
I know Kershaw has a 2006 bowman chrome draft auto and then another one in 2008--what are the "rules" behind that?
I mean, I see "1st Bowman Card" on multiple cards over multiple years of the same players so wasn't really sure that they any followed any sort of rules...

Is it really? I don't recall a single player ever whose other cards were not adversely affected by the addition of a Chrome autograph all else held equal. Certainly one can make money if the player performs well enough, but the potential takes a massive hit, and IMO predicting performance is difficult enough that you want to do all you can to ensure that if the player does perform, you reap the benefits.
(Xander Bogaerts Leaf cards are another guy I would consider moving...)
edit: Hultzen is another.

You can certainly have more than one Bowman auto, but it's because he was considered part of the "prospects" set while in the minors. He had another one again at a later time after he'd been called up and is considered part of the "rookie" set.
In Bauer's case, he is still a prospect and has yet to be called up.
