As much as I dont care about this whole situation I find it interesting that all it takes for some folks to feel that warm fuzzy feeling is him going on TV and admitting it, because guys like that dont know how to act, you know, like when he gave another interview and looked the reporter in the eye and said he never used the stuff.

It's not so much that I have a warm fuzzy feeling about him, but I definitely have more respect for him than if he continued to lie. Using is one offense, using and never coming clean is two, and it makes you look really bad because everyone knows already. Continuing a lie forever insults people's intelligence. Using, while not condoned, is over already.

At least he admitted it, unlike Clemens.

I think honesty is the best choice, and I think experience shows that...look at the most noticable figure and the outcome:

denied - bonds, clemens
admitted - giambi, arod
obstained - mcgwire

At least AROD is learning...

I don't think that the media is out to get the Yankees with this. They are out to show that once again a dominate player in the league to use 'roids.

Where are the people who jumped on A-Rod's bandwagon after Bonds broke the record with chants of "we'll have a clean record breaker soon".

It's all insane, how many pitchers that these guys have faced used 'roids as well? The pitcher that Bonds tied the record against was suspended in the minor for steriod use. A-Rod played in Texas with a lot of players using steroids. He blew up like a balloon just like Bonds did and I don't think that by him saying that he used the stuff and being sorry about it should cut him any slack. He used it for awhile and when Bonds and others went down in the media, he stood by staying quite about his use, now he's sorry that he got caught, not that he used the 'roids.

Glad I never laid out any big bucks for any of his signed stuff. Lied and cheated
you should really wait till when the other 100+ names are released, you never ever know who will be on it. But then again they got their scape goat in pinstripes they will now say its un-ethetical to release the other players names.

Give me a break man... get off your high horse. You think that we think way too highly of the Yankees. A-Rod won't be on the front page longer simply because he is a Yankee, but because he is likely to be the next person to break the HR record. The fact is, people are going to be more interested in A-Rod using roids than they would Willie Bloomquist. Why? Because A-Rod is a significant figure in the sport and is also known as one of the biggest ********** in the sport. If Shelley Duncan showed up on that list, I highly doubt this Yankee-hating media conspiracy of yours would really make an impact. As for him admitting to using them, that is kind of sketchy. He was already called out for using them and denied it. He is only coming clean after having a 100% sure-fire positive test leaked into the media. That being said, he could have gone the Clemens or Bonds route and continued to deny it. For that, I give him a little kudos.

watch the interview, i think people that hate him will see him in a different light than bonds and clemens...hes on the verge of tears and you can tell how much he regrets what he did

yea, now that he's been caught.

Smart move by Arod. Doesn't really change my opinion of him. Never liked him back when I thought he was clean. I would've had more respect for him if he would've admitted it a year ago when he was asked point blank by Katie Couric if he had used PED's.

Are you sure he's not on the verge of tears because he regrets getting caught? Good for him for admitting what everyone already knows but the fact is he's a cheater. He went on 60 Minutes 3 days after the Mitchell Report was published and gushed about how confident he is on a baseball field and that he's never felt over-matched on the diamond. He's concerned with image and that's all. If he was truly sorry he wouldn't have continued for three years. It looks like he only stopped because he couldn't get away with it anymore, not because he knew it to be wrong. What little like or respect I had for the guy is gone and he's only got himself to blame for any fallout. He didn't have to take such a high profile stance after the report and could have simply given a no-comment but he had to go the Palmiero route and emphatically deny usage. He was and is only concerned about public perception and as a result loses so much credibility in the eyes of fans and fellow players.

Yeah, I don't see how owning up to your mistakes after you've been caught makes you any different. Have we not already forgotten the interview he gave with 60 minutes a couple years ago?? He forcefully denied ever having taken any sort of performance enhancing stuff multiple times.

I think his case is WAY different than Bonds or Clemens. Arod is in the middle of his career and has MUCH more to lose than Bonds or Clemens had. They were talking earlier on Sportscenter about how Arod has sort of built himself into a brand, rather than just a ballplayer. I'm sure he has tons of sponsorships and stuff like that he could possibly lose. Also, I've read that Arod is terribly concerned with what type of legacy he leaves. Admitting to this at least allows him to attempt to rebuild his legacy whereas I don't think Bonds or Clemens really care that much.

Here's what I think....

I think that all these superstars who have made a ton of money using PED's should pay back half of their salaries to their teams. Besides that, I don't care.

Good of him to admit it. But that doesn't change anything. Just proves he knows when he is wrong, and the best thing to do is admit it.

Nothing more than a liar and a cheat. Lets not forget that when Canseco said he had something on Aroid that, Aroid said, he never did anything and that Canseco is a liar. Interesting turn of events.

More interesting will be the abuse he gets in the Bronx and everywhere else. Lets face it, he's no Mr. October, and the Yankess fans are not all about him. I predict the Giambi effect where he will not be able to hit at all. Minors by July !!!!

And what a fruit loop with his red string....stop hanging out with Madonna.

MOD EDIT - keep the language clean please.
