I see Cano got voted in, I was watching a game a couple of weeks ago and they said he was batting 140 with runners in scoring position.

He is, but he has 9 HR in his last 13 games.

If he was hitting with RISP he would he the AL MVP front runner.

true dat......... and there really isn't any other second basemen doing as well.
Granderson who got voted in has 20+ HR's but is only batting 245 and has K'd over 90 times, there probably was someone more deserving there.

No Braun starting=insanity backlash/SUPER hate-o-rade.

It's not a true "All Star" game, if all of the stars aren't starting.

Some surprising All-Star appearances facts:

This is only Cano's 3rd AS game
This is only Verlander's 2nd AS game
The entire NL pitching staff is either going for the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time.
Carlos Gonzalez and Huston Street's 1st AS game? Could've swore they had been there at least once before.

I get what you are saying but it's hard to argue why any of three NL OF shouldn't be voted in. It's not like Pablo starting over David Wright. I'm sure Braun will take Kemp's spot in the starting OF.

+1 AJ should have been picked over Wieters as a backup. I wish the all star game was solely on stats

SERIOUS..GET OVER IT... Did you pay attention to who he picked? He did not pick any Cardinal and picked Jay Bruce along with Hammels, Papplebon, Ruiz(who should BE THERE), Miley, Street and Stanton. Of his 9 picks he had, 4 were from teams with no representation...Miami, San Diego, Philly and Arizona. So to say he didnt pick him over some BS a couple of years ago is silly.
The ASG is far from perfect...

problem is the Giants have 4 players in the game already, Even though they have the 4th best record in baseball you cant put them all on the team, they easily have 6-7 players that could have made it.

FYI(eastcoast), Romo is one of the best if not the best pitcher in baseball.... batter for batter

last 1-1/2 years...
93 Games, 5-2 record, 1.27 ERA, 39 hits allowed in 70.2 innings, 99 strikeouts with only 12 walks, 71.5 WHIP (career 87.6 WHIP)

That is surprising, since Verlander is now a 5 time All-Star. :-P

(I thought I remembered hearing that on the TBS broadcast, and the sites I'm looking at now do confirm that).

Still....no. I'm sure batter for batter players look great when they only face.....3 batters.

The whole conversation about Romo does bring up a good point though....is there such a thing as pitchers that play between the 6th and 8th innings? Cause I sure don't see any here.
