From Mark Feinsand, aka @BloggingBombers -- Girardi said Pineda's session was "not good." Felt the pain in his shoulder again. Will see a doctor. Girardi on Pineda's setback: "I think it's somewhat significant. ... I can't tell you when we'll get him back. That's the one thing that you can't control; when the intensity turns up, how a guy is going to feel. He still felt it."

Look on the bright side, Yankee fans.....at least Montero is sucking it up in Seattle!

Cashman better pray that Campos becomes something big. Cashman should be fired for this debacle, how do you not get a full MRI with dye after that trade after his 2nd half.

Ivan Nova > Michael Pineda

And Nova has a higher K/9 and a lower BB/9 so far this year than Pineda did last year.

I said it as soon as trade was announced, as a Mariners fan, Jesus Montero for Pineda would have been a fantastic trade one for one for Seattle; as soon as I saw that José Campos had been traded, I got seriously upset. I honestly would put him on par with James Paxton for number two in the Mariners farm system last year. He is the real deal!

So cashman has bad luck in a deal and that means he should be fired.. sounds like a yankee fan. pineda when healthy has tremendous upside. I wpuldnt be so quick to throw him to the fire. he excited a ton of people not in seattle so knowing the yanks needed pitching.. cashman made the right move. i being a seattle fan.. hated to see him go. but love montero so far

I don't know if you can request that before a trade in the medicals, can you? A bit invasive for a trade I would have to think.

And if Cashman should be fired for this, then Epstein should have been fired and not hired by the Cubs for the Crawford and DiceK deals. And Andrew Bailey now, obviously under new management. Point being, you win some you lose some. Cashman did make the ridiculous Betemit for Swisher deal. And put together a successful rotation with spent parts in Garcia and Fatty last year.

Agreed. GM's don't get fired for prospects panning out elsewhere. It just doesn't happen. Kenny Williams would have been fired 5 times by now if that it is the case.
