Meh....it gave the KC fans something to do. It's not like they have anything good to cheer about.

I don't think it was overboard.

If they started throwing their beers and souvenir baseballs at him, sure, that's a bit excessive, but that didn't happen, so no.

Oh god, read this on another site...

Actually I heard that Robbie was seen running to the clubhouse sobbing.

He was drying his eyes with all the unsold Royals season tickets from the past 30 years.

I feel worse for Andrew McCutchen, since his entire time on television consisted of Berman interviewing Josh Hamilton. Nomar tried to mention McCutchen's excellent season, but Berman was too busy creaming his jeans (sorry, just saw the trailer for Anchorman 2) over Hamilton to notice.

Its not KC's fault Cano couldn't hit a SINGLE ball out. Pretty sure Butler or any other player could've at least hit one.

Cano has to know that the fans want to see a home town kid hit. Since when did we trust these types of decisions to ball players? I'm glad he got
booed, the next years cap will get it right.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Cano go Dan Uggla in the first inning of the game tomorrow night.

The point of the Home Run Derby is to give the fans a show, the fans simply provided their opinion on the matter. As for Butler's power then why do we have a 2B as captain of the home run derby team? We have a power guy in one of the biggest fields in the league, yea he'll hit doubles just like the line drive hitter gets homers in one of the best hitters parks in the league.

Really Carl, you're going to make a joke about Kansas City's team...

I'm guessing because he won it last year.

Yankee fan here, and i have no problem with the reaction... Cano should have picked Billy, i mean like someone said before, KC hasnt had much to cheer for... why not throw them a bone? for some reason and i`m sure i`ll get hated on for saying this but Cano is probably one of the Yankees that i dont care for personality wise. He seems like a real ****** and this coming from a spanish guy that isnt thrown off by the language barrier.

I really don't get the "fan" argument. Don't the millions of "fans" watching from home matter maybe even more than the few thousand fans at the stadium? Just out of curiosity everyone complaining about Butler who would you leave off? Do you think more fans would enjoy seeing Butler? I also don't get how people can justify the crowds response. It's not even an exhibition game. It's a charity event. I mean it's one thing to boo as he steps to the plate but the entire at bat? I mean I've been watching the home run derby for alot of years and have some great memories and to me it's a shame that the memory I'll be left with is how classless the kc fans were. I also think it's a shame for kc fans that it will also be what they'll be remembered for and what most people will be talking about tomorrow.

Where did I make a joke about KC's team? I said Butler had like the least power on the AllStar team's roster. Sheesh...

I can't stand the Yankees, but booing Cano all the way thru his Derby AB is "quit swearing". I thought it put a huge damper on what is supposed to be a fun night with plenty of HR's.

PS. as a Brewer fan it sucked even worse watching Fielder win it. This time for someone else.

It was laughable that ESPN reacted like the booing of Cano was some horrible act by the KC fans. Big stinking deal. Cano is an adult. The only way this is a problem is if he is a little leaguer.
