This is a steal for the Yankees in my opinion, there offense was great to begin with, now you add Granderson. The Tigers will still be in the playoff picture, because they play in the A.L. Central!

I really don't think they would move Cabrera unless are blown away by a trade offer. He is just starting to hit his prime.

I don't think this upgrades their offense at all. Granderson basically replaces Damon. Defensively is where the upgrade is.

He replaces Damon as 1/2 the cost, is better defensively, is 8 years young...need I go on?

As best Austin Jackson=Curtis Granderson or he could be another Ruben Rivera, Gerald Williams. It's not like they gave up a Jason Heyward or a OF prospect of that type of caliber. He is not the next Carlos Beltran or Ken Griffey, so who cares.

Granderson is a good guy and will blend in with the Yanks nicely.

I did and I agree, I think Granderson is a ton more durable then Damon. I like Damons bat alot but his defense was awful.

I like the people saying Granderson strikes out way too much. Just check out the stats.

Austin Jackson - 123K in 504AB - Strikes out in 24.4% of ABs
Curtis Granderson - 141K in 631AB - Strikes out in 22.3% of ABs

141 strikeouts is a lot, but Jackson struck out more often than Granderson in 2009, and Jackson was in AAA.

I really like this trade. We gave up a potential all star CF'er with little power for an all star CF'er that hit 30hr last year.

Kennedy and Coke are easily replaceable.

You are dead on. A lot of people on this board get too caught up in prospect hype.

Remember that Jackson is still nothing but a prospect with a high ceiling that he may or may not ever reach. Granderson is an MLB All Star who hit 30 homers last year.

Who would you rather have if your team just won the world series and was getting ready to try to defend its title?

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

The Tigers could have avoided all of this by not letting Magglio get his bonus # of ABs last year! I said at the time that made no sense playing him! No they are on the hook for 2 more years of terrible defense, and nothing but singles from a corner outfielder at $18 million and $15 million per! Unreal how bad of a decision that was!

Sorry to disagree with a fellow Tigers fan. But, Maggs' second half numbers were .375/.438/.540. He absolutely raked in the second half. And with the Tigers in first, it absolutely made sense to play him.

Red Sox fans now think the Tigers are giving their players away.

One on the RedSox forum suggested a

Casey Kotchman/Lars Anderson, Manny Del Carmen and Michael Bowden
for
Miguel Cabrera and Justin Verlander

Thats it? Heck, why stop there? Maybe the Tigers can also throw in that Tiger statue in the outfield, a row of third base side seats and Porcello too.
