Over last weekend was back in Michigan visiting family for an early Christmas celebration and stopped by the local Meijer to see what they had in stock. In addition to at least a dozen Bowman Chrome and Topps Chrome blasters, they had a number of Bowman Platinum blasters and Draft fat packs (the 12 card packs). Out of curiosity of Platinum I picked up a blaster and also grabbed 5 packs of Draft to fully scratch the itch.
The draft packs were nothing special, though I did hit 3 purple ref (Marc Brakeman USA, Jordan Norberto, Blake Forsyth) and a vet ref of Jordan Smith. So by the odds for refs I did well. Also pulled chrome of Alex Wimmers and a Carson Kelly USA.
As for the Bowman Platinum blaster, I did quite well. Prospect cards of Kyle Gibson, Slade Heathcott, Jerry Sands. USA cards of Ryan Wright, Jackie Bradley, and Brett Mooneyham. And then there were these two hits. First hit was a green ref of Jackie Bradley.
Couple packs later I noticed I had another green ref and was really excited to see it was Chapman and then I saw the auto.
I really like the look of the Bowman Platinum cards, especially how the design of the base, prospect, and USA cards are similar yet distinctive. And the on card autos are even better. All in all I like the look of this set better than most of the Bowman Sterling sets.
